BUREWALA - The federal government will necessitate annual budgetary grants for district and tehsil bar associations across the country; Federal Secretary for Law Pir Masood Ahmad Chishtti said on Sunday night. Addressing a reception at the Burewala Bar Association, he said that legislation process will be accomplished during the current session of the National Assembly in this regard. He said that funds for small bar associations are being provided without discrimination. He urged lawyers to utilise these grants for the betterment of their community in transparent way. He said that the Federal Ministry have given Rs 5 million grant to Burewala, Rs 2 million to Vehari and Rs 1 million to Mailsi bar associations. Brother and Cohorts tortured woman to death
BUREWALA - A brother along with his two relatives tortured his sister to death and injured two others in the name of honour at Chak No. 154/EB here on Wednesday. Two real sisters Tasleem Bibi and Sakeena Bibi had gone to meet his brother Tanvir Ahmad in Sialkot and in their absence their relatives informed his other brother Munir Ahmad that Tasleem Bibi who is married a mother of nine years old daughter had developed illicit relations with some body and had bad character after hearing about it Munir Ahmad infuriated and called his sisters back from Sialkot and he with the help of his brother in-law Farooq and cousin Ayub allegedly tortured his sister Tasleem Bibi to death while broken the legs of his other sister Sakeena and also injured Zareena. Saddar police have registered a case and started investigation.
Eight Years Old Girl Electrocuted, Brother Injured
BUREWALA - AN eight years old girl electrocuted while his brother was injured at Chak No. 263/EB here on Wednesday. Muhammad Anwar Larr resident of Chak No. 263/EB his eight years old daughter Misbah was playing in the house when suddenly she touched a pedestal fan and got serious electric jolt while his brother was also injured in bid to save her. They were rushed to THQ hospital Burewala for medical treatment but girl expired in the way while his brother was provided medical treatment.
Brick Kilns stopped selling after general sales tax[/SIZE]
BUREWALA - The Brick Kiln Association Burewala have stopped the selling after the announcement of the imposition of general sales tax on bricks and announced three days strike in the sub-division here on Wednesday. The Brick Kiln Association Burewala President Haji Muhammad Imtiaz, General Secretary Sultan Afzal Wahla, SVP Muhammad Irfan Chaudhry in press conference announced to stop selling of the bricks for three days in the sub division and strongly rejected the imposition of 16 percent general sales tax on the brick kilns sales. They said that government does not provide any facilities to this sector and bricks rates would be increased immensely which would harm the construction business. They pledged for complete strike if the tax had not been withdrawn. They said that government has failed on all fronts.
