BUREWALA: Burewala Bar Association observed complete strike against the registration of bogus cases against the nephew of member and police behavior; Lawyer’s staged demonstration in front of DSP, Burewala office and blocked Delhi-Multan road by burning tyres and demanded immediate his transfer here on Thursday. According to details City police booked nephew of Burewala Bar association member Naseer Ahmad Bhutta Advocate in a bogus case of rape and robbery and moreover policemen in civil uniforms entered their house with out warrants and harassed the family members. Burewala Bar association over the incident observed complete strike against the DSP, Burewala Malik Muhammad Rafiq Khokhar and city police and staged a demonstration infront of his office. Lawyers blocked Delhi-Multan road by burning tyres and also chanted slogans against the police manhandling. They demanded immediate transfer of the DSP, Burewala Muhammad Rafiq Khokhar from Burewala. Bar Association President Muhammad Javed Shaheen Advocate alleged that police on behest of DSP, Burewala fabricated a bogus story. He said that on Saturday 10th October, 2009 Multan Division total Bar Association will observed complete strike and will stage a demonstration in from DPO, Vehari office and their protest will continue till the transfer of DSP, Burewala Malik Muhammad Rafiq Khokhar. While contacted DSP, Burewala he denied the lawyers allegation and termed it baseless saying that it is propaganda of some lawyers to defame him.
BUREWALA: The villagers caught a youth after finding him in objectionable state with a girl and to get the youth released from the girl’s relatives custody Sahuka police scuffled with family of girl and in result SHO Sahuka police station along with other police officials got injured; police arrested four youth of girl family and released the rapist after the incident here on Saturday morning.
BUREWALA: The canal breach caused devastation to hundreds acres of cotton, paddy, maize and vegetables near Chak No. 431/EB early Tuesday morning; The farmers of the area appealed Punjab Chief Minister to declare their area as calamity hit to meet their losses. The sudden breach in 5-L distributary inundated hundreds acres of cotton, paddy and vegetables and water also entered in the house of localities. The Irrigation, Revenue and Police department joint team in a rescue operation shifted the people of the area to safe places. The irrigation department officials have formed a team to repair the breach at the earliest and they hired excavator and tractors to fill 50-foot long gap and managed to over come it after 12-hours long efforts. BUREWALA: Pakistan Army’s 36-Supply and Transport (S&T) Battalion soldier Khawar Naseem who embraced martyrdom during operation “Rah-e-Nijat” near Jandola South Waziristan buried with full military honours at central graveyard of Burewala here on Friday. Khawar Naseem son of Naib Subedar Muhammad Hussain resident of Habib Colony Burewala was martyred in unidentified men fired missile attack near Jandola, South Waziristan. He was buried with full military honours in the central grave yard of the city as Pakistan Army Mailsi Garrison Commander Brigadier Muhammad Saleem, Lieutenant Colonel Slaman Qureshi, Captain Ali Waseem Farooqi, Lieutenant Navaish Naveed, and large number of officers, jawans and people belonging to different walks of life attended the last rites. After the burial, Pakistan Army Mailsi Garrison Commander Brigadier Muhammad Saleem laid floral wreath on behalf of the President of Pakistan and Chief of Army Staff, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani while Major Jahazeb Khan of 36-Supply and Transport (S&T) Battalion laid wreath on the behalf of the Supply and Transport (S&T) Battalion and Lieutenant Colonel Slaman Qureshi, laid wreath on behalf of the air defense brigade Mailsi Garrison. Khawar Naseem was married about six month ago and embraced martyrdom during his heroic bid with another fellow. Khawar Naseem father naib subedar Muhammad Hussain said that he proud to be father of a martyr and said that almighty had fulfilled his desire. At the time of his funeral, people from different walks of life were present. They were chanted slogans in favour of Country and Pakistan Army and all praise for the family of Soldier Khawar Naseem who rendered innumerable service for the country. People also went to the residence of his father and offered Fateha for the departed soul. BUREWALA: District Police Officer (DPO), Vehari Asher Hameed Chaudhry along with members of the peace committee inspected the rout of Ashurra-e-Muharram procession here on Friday after-noon. DSP, Burewala Haji Muhammad Ilyas Warraich, SHO City Police Station Mian Muhammad Rafique Joyia, Anjuman-e-Tajraan Burewala President Muhammad Jameel Bhatti and other accompanied him. DPO, Vehari Ashar Hameed Chaudhry marched thorough H-Block, Rail Bazar, Goal Chowk, Vehari bazaar, Grain market and joyia road to inspect the rout of main zuljinah and tazia procession. He issued direction to the concerned police officials to make comprehensive security arraignments on the day to avert any untoward incident.
BUREWALA: Government has imposed ban on entry of twelve Ulema and Zakireen in precincts of Vehari district during Muharramul Haram, police sources said on Thursday. The Ulema and Zakireen banned included Maulana Aziz Taunsvi of Bahawalpur, Agha Naseem Abbas Rizvi of Lahore, Dr. Khadim Hussain Dhillon of Jehanian, Ali Sher Haidari of Kherpur (Sindh), Maulana Alam Tariq (Chichawatni), Maulana Usman Ziaur Rehman Farooqi, Maulana Ahmad Siyal, Maulana Masoodur Rehman Usmani, Maulana Asif Rasheedi, Maulana Abu Bakar Shah, Maulana Aurangzeb Farooqi, and Maulana Afzal Hussaini. DPO Asher Hameed Chaudhry said that 63 peace committees will operate in Vehari district to maintain peace during Muharram. He said that one district peace committee, three tehsil peace committees, and 59 police stations level peace committees will assist the district administration and police during Muharram. Meanwhile, fourteen points in Vehari have been declared as most sensitive included in A category while another fourteen points were declared as sensitive in category B. DPO said that Category A and B areas have been put under strict vigil by police and SHOs and DSPs have been issued warnings of action in case of any negligence in implementation of security plan.
