Zardari has no moral basis to remain in office: Tehmina Daultana

BUREWALA: PML-N Central leader and MNA Tehmina Daultana said that president Zardari has no moral basis to remain in office though he enjoys immunity under the constitution but it is his moral obligation to step down and added that the decision was a victory of justice and a ray of hope for the people and further said the ruling would help end corruption and will bring a good name for the country; She was addressing at the resident of late party leader Dr. Nazir Ahmad Mithu Dogar here on Saturday. Tehmina Daultana said the party would formulate a future strategy after detailed intra-party discussion on the NRO verdict, adding that the PML-N wanted to protect the system but not any individual. She called the SC decision “historic”, saying all cases withdrawn under the NRO had been revived. She said Supreme court regulate to recover looted amount from Swiss bank accounts and was appreciable and added that the party had faced all cases against it in the past, and suggested that the Pakistan People’s Party leaders also face the cases against them in courts. She said Zardari had no moral basis to remain in office and should transfer all his powers to Yousaf Raza Gilani, as it would save the democratic system and said the people’s looted money should be recovered at all costs and added that verdict would have a positive effect on the politics of the country, adding that the time of thieves and dacoits was over. BUREWALA: District Police Officer, Vehari Akhtar Umar Hayat Lalyka on Saturday chaired a peace seminar at police lines Vehari to review the security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Harram. DPO, Vehari Akhtar Umar Hayat Lalyka addressing the participants of the seminar informed about prevailing law and order situation in the country with particular reference to Muharram-ul-Harram. He emphasized on the harmony between the various sects should be maintained at all cost and inconvenience should not be caused to the public while ensuring security arrangements during Muharram-ul-Harram. He said any individual or group, causing disturbance to the sectarian harmony is to be dealt with iron hand while effective arrangements should be made to prevent any terrorist attack. He said that “we have to unite as nation and chracrtor building is must to understand each other”. He said that Vehari police has set a control room with emergency phone number for the reporting of any danger. He said police commandoes of elite force and personnel of intelligence agencies in plain cloth have also been deployed in all sensitive areas and trouble spots in addition to imambargah and mosques. He said that all police officers have further been directed to establish close liaison with district and teshil peace committees for promoting harmony under the supervision of district Nazims and Town Nazims. Women suffering from hunger and poverty stricken families staged demonstration

BUREWALA: Women suffering from hunger and poverty stricken families staged demonstration and blocked traffic by burning tyres against the unfair distribution of the Benazir Income Support Program and other funding programs at Multan road here on Saturday. According to the details dozen of local women suffering from hunger and poverty from different parts of sub-division under the leadership of social worker Miss Robina Naz staged a demonstration at Multan road in front of telephone exchange and burnt tyres and blocked the traffic to raise their protest against the unfair distribution of the Benazir Income Support Program and other funding. The alleged that influential have eat the share poverty stricken people as their families are dying due to every day increasing poverty and hunger. They shouted slogans against the local parliamentarians for ignoring them. Social worker Miss Robina Naz said that parliamentarians and others influentials are obliging their favorites and children of mediocre and ordinary families are dying due to hunger which is injustice to them. She demanded of the government to establish a neat and clean system for the distribution of funds of supporting programs. They attributed to continue their protest if they have not been provided their share in distribution of these funds. The protesting women later on the intervention of local MNA Chaudhry Nazir Ahmad Jatt’s personal assistants assurance of providing those funds to them as well called off their protest and peacefully dispersed.

Former President Muhammad Javed Baitu Advocate and Young Lawyers Forum Pakistan President Chaudhry Fiaz Azim have announced to contest for the president ship election and started their campaign in this regard. Chaudhry Fiaz Azim Advocate has said that his aim to contest for election is to protect rights of young lawyers community and to end different group s\of the lawyers within bar which are hearting the lawyers cause and added in past some elements have used the president office for the personal motives and they have sidelined the bar problems but ensured that with the support of young and senior lawyers he will end these tactics and will work for the strengthening of the bar association.

Revenue departments recovered Rs. 1,197,166/- arresting 12 defaulters, confiscated crops of landlords

BUREWALA: The local revenue department in a special campaign against defaulters arrested 12 people, confiscated crops of landlords and recovered 1,197,166/- rupees dead dues from them according to the information here on Friday. District Coordination Officer, Vehari Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf on the direction Government of the Punjab has ordered the DDO Revenue Burewala Shahid Zaman Lak and Tehsildar Qamar Mehmood Manj to launch a special campaign against the habitual defaulters of agricultural tax, water rate for the recovery of the outstanding due from them and revenue department officials following these directions arrested 12 defaulters including Haji Muhammad Amin of Ghafoor Wah, Muhammad Pahlwan Shan Muhammad, Muhammad Amin, Muhammad Ashfaq, Muhammad Shafi, Sardar Muhammad of Chak No. 429/EB, Muhammad Waryam, Riasat Ali, Muhammad Ayub of Chak No. 128/EB, Manzoor Ahmad of Chak No. 431/EB and Muhammad Sultan of Mouza Lakhoka and recovered Rs. 85’824/- outstanding dues from them. The revenue departments also have recovered Rs. 1,197,166/- out of total outstanding target of Rs. 2’033’798/- which is quite satisfactory. The revenue department officials also confiscated crops of six landlords including Nawab Khalid Khan Khakwani of Kot Qadar Bux, Gul Shah and Fiaz Ahmad Shah of Raheem Shah and others to recover outstanding dues against them as well while 100 percent target for the collection of agricultural tax have be achieved in the month November, 2009 by the extensive efforts of the field staff. DDO Revenue Burewala Shahid Zaman Lak and Tehsildar Qamar Mehmood Manj has advised the revenue department officials that the recovery drive will continue till the recovery of all government outstanding dues till the end of this month and no political or any other pressure will be sustained in this regard. They have advised the defaulters to pay their dues for the best interest of the province and country.

BUREWALA: Burewala city is on the verge cultural disintegrate due to increasing encroachments alongside footpaths and roadsides are not only affecting smooth movement of pedestrians but also aggravating traffic flow in the city and police and civic authorities are sleeping for those those violating the rules are back in no time. The situation is worst in Arif Bazaar, Rail bazaar, Vehari Bazaar. Joyia Road, Resham Gali H-Block, old tehsil road, Lakkar Mandi road. In many business hubs of the city, many shops have displayed their wares on the footpath. Besides, large portion of footpaths and streets have been encroached upon by vendors, forcing pedestrians to leave footpath and put their lives in danger by walking on road. A shopkeeper in timber market road, Tanveer Ahmad says vendors encroach on footpaths in violation of the orders issued by the tehsil municipal administration and added, that most shop owners iron stores are laying iron, t-irons, guarder and other stuff in front of their shops in violation of traffic rules thus causing traffic congestion. “ The tehsil municipal administration should remove encroachments from all bazaars to facilitate pedestrian and streamline traffic problem”, Ahmad Raza said. Mohammad Ishaq, resident of Habib Colony said that “The absence of proper signboards, inadequate enforcement of the no-parking rule and unmarked parking places combine with encroachment have led to the problem getting worse by the day”, he added. He said traffic police should have been appointed in the city bazaars to regulate the traffic flow and TMA should start an impartial operation against the removal of encroachments. The people of the area expressing their views said that beautification of the city is marred by the encroachments and lack of interest by the tehsil municipal administration during the last eight years of local bodies system as District and Tehsil Nazim continued their rival politics and city had paid its prize. Provincial government has also not paid any attention for the beautification of the city and more over natural gas installation pipes have also broken all the street roads but the contractor of the department have not deposited a single penny for the repair of the broken roads which is totally astonishing. Tehsil Municipal Administration Burewala when contacted about the condition they says that they are trying hard to improve the situation but after the appointment of the administrator in the local council it is assumed that the situation may get improve from worst to better. TMA Burewala need a competent and shrewd administrator to over the problem to improve cleanliness and sanitation moreover removal of illegal encroachments from the main bazaars of the city.

One minor girl killed and three others sustained serious injuries

BUREWALA: One minor girl killed and three others sustained serious injuries when a wall a roof top of a house caved in Street No. 9 Muhammad Nagar at Multan road here on Sunday after-noon. Reportedly, four minor girls were playing in front of Muhammad Rafique house in street no. 9 Muhammad Nagar at Multan road when suddenly roof top of his house caved in the street due to unknown reason and in result four minor playing girls dumped in the rubble and people of the area came for their rescue soon after the incident and recovering their bodies shifted them to THQ hospital Burewala where one the injured named Malaika Rafique succumbed to her injuries and expired while three others including Rehana Rafique, Irha Rehman, and Iqra Eman’s arms and legs were broken in the accident. They were provided medical treatment at the hospital.

Two Killed 20 other injured in road accident at dewan sahib road

BUREWALA: Two children killed and 20 others including men, women and children wounded as van loaded with passengers turns-turtles after hitting a tree alongside road at Dewan sahib-Luddan road here on Friday after-noon. Rana Amjad Farooq resident of Chak No. 203/EB along with his family members was going to the shrine of Baba Haji Sher Dewan in their van when they reached 6th mile of Dewan sahib road the driver lost control on the vehicles and it rammed in to a road side tree and turned turtle in result a one year old girl and 12 years old Ali Raza instantly killed on the spot while others 20 other passengers including driver Rana Farooq Amjad, Tasleem Kausar, Tahira Parveen, Zainab Bibi, Shumaila, Sumera, Ali Hassan, Nazim Ali, Muhammad Afzal, Takhyal Hussain, Abid Ali, Sardar Ali, Azahar Iqbal, Ahmad Ali And Annum Shahzadi and others seriously wounded. They were rushed to THQ hospital Burewala by the people where emergency staff provided them medical treatment. Medical Superintendent Dr. Amjad Abid Gujjar called the doctors and paramedics on duty and three patients condition is told to b every critical and they have been referred to Nishter hospital Multan. The police didn’t reach for rescue operation after the accident. Meanwhile in another accident a trailer crushed a youth to death near new sabzi mandi at Multan road. Malik Muhammad Shafqat resident of Chak 92/12-L was going to his village on his motor-cycle no. VRH-5858 when he reached near new sabzi Mandi Multan road a trailer crushed him to death. City police have started action against the trailer driver.

Nawaz said: “It is shameful that we are holding a begging bowl despite being an atomic power. He said the dictator has earned billions by surrendering our sovereignty, and now the nation should question about the spending of those dollars.” According to him, in Pakistan the dictators have violated the law, tore the Constitution and toppled the elected government to cater to their personal whims, and they played with the nation’s destiny and stability, but now the people should vow that they would change their own destiny by supporting us. He thanked God and said: “We have earned back what we had lost, and now our decisions are for the national integration and to uphold the dignity of the Constitution and give people their due rights. He expressed his resolve to take all-out measures against those who are undermining this country and creating chaos. Nawaz praised late Zahid Wahla’s services to the party and said he remained resolute in hard times. He also lauded Tehmina for her strong stance during the nine years of dictatorship. Punjab Rural Doctors' & Paramedics Association's demands regularization in 12 districts

BUREWALA: Punjab Rural Doctors Association (PRDA) and Rural Health Employees Association (RHEA) have demanded of the Punjab Chief Minister to regularize them in 12 districts as they have been deprived of their right in the current decision of regularization despite promises; this was stated by their office-bearers while addressing a press conference at Press Club Burewala here on Friday.
Punjab Rural Doctors Association (PRDA) Provincial President Dr. Javed Haider Joyia along Vehari District Coordinator Dr. Sakhawat Randhawa, Muhammad Saddique Dhillon, Dr. Ayat Ullah Ballu along with Rural Health Employees Association (RHEA) Vehari President Arshad Mahmood Shakeel, Nasir Rafique, Rana Muhammad Shakeel and others in a press conference said that in 12 districts of the Punjab including Rahim Yar Khan, Lodhran, Vehari, Pakpattan, Sahiwal, Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Kasur, Miawali, Chakwal, Lahore under they are working under the management of Punjab Rural Support Program (PRSP) “Chief Minister Basic Health Program” initiative and they are performing their duties for many years as they draw their salaries from the concerned district health department and follow their executive orders. Punjab government after meetings with Punjab Rural Doctors Association, Pakistan Medical Association and Yong Doctors Association agreed to regularize them according to the contract employees but some elements in the government machinery to defame the Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif have intentionally not submitted their summary for the approval and with held it to deprived them of regularization under the scheme. They alleged that 613 Doctors and thousand of Paramedics have been refrained to get the regularization orders which is injustice as they are working 12 districts 845 Basic Health Units (BHU), 181 District council Dispensaries and GDR and 12 Mother Child Heath Care Units. They demanded of the Punjab Chief Minister to issue their regularization orders and if they have been deprived of their due right then they come on roads to press for their demand. #

BUREWALA: Burewala Bar Association observed complete strike against the registration of bogus cases against the nephew of member and police behavior; Lawyer’s staged demonstration in front of DSP, Burewala office and blocked Delhi-Multan road by burning tyres and demanded immediate his transfer here on Thursday. According to details City police booked nephew of Burewala Bar association member Naseer Ahmad Bhutta Advocate in a bogus case of rape and robbery and moreover policemen in civil uniforms entered their house with out warrants and harassed the family members. Burewala Bar association over the incident observed complete strike against the DSP, Burewala Malik Muhammad Rafiq Khokhar and city police and staged a demonstration infront of his office. Lawyers blocked Delhi-Multan road by burning tyres and also chanted slogans against the police manhandling. They demanded immediate transfer of the DSP, Burewala Muhammad Rafiq Khokhar from Burewala. Bar Association President Muhammad Javed Shaheen Advocate alleged that police on behest of DSP, Burewala fabricated a bogus story. He said that on Saturday 10th October, 2009 Multan Division total Bar Association will observed complete strike and will stage a demonstration in from DPO, Vehari office and their protest will continue till the transfer of DSP, Burewala Malik Muhammad Rafiq Khokhar. BUREWALA: PML (N) MNA Khawaja Saad Rafiq has that news about Saudi authorities’ direction to PML-N Chief Nawaz Sharif to stay away from elections until 2010 are propaganda and added such reports were part of a character assassination campaign directed against the PML-N leadership. He said Nawaz Sharif don’t accept American dictation but Saudis have very cordial relationship with Mian Nawaz Sharif and they know his personality and importance for his country and they would never ask him such things. He said that Nawaz Sharif candidature from NA-123 would be decided in central leadership meeting soon after the return of Mian Nawaz Sharif. He said that Kerry-Lugar Bill is in its final process and government should have informed American leadership about reservation of the nation about this bill through diplomatic channels and added that Pakistan should not accept foreign trade at the cost of its sovereignty and prestige. To a question against that why PML-N leadership has gone to back step he said that his party did their politics according to a set of values and traditions, not just for the acquisition of power. “We both mainstream political parties know our limits, and will never pave way for the anti-democratic forces to come in at any cost but if the current situation persists and Zardari government continue with its policies then Zardari government have to go as we don’t want to open door of earlier politics of sabotage. Five allegedly shot dead a youth during a cricket match

BUREWALA: Five accused allegedly shot dead a youth during a cricket match at Chak No. 142/EB here on Thursday. Atif Riaz, 16, son of Riaz Ahmad a retired Rangers Police (R) Inspector went to play cricket match in the ground of village government boys’ higher secondary school where five armed accused including Aftab Ahmad, Shahid, Waqas, Sohail and Sajid allegedly came there and started aerial firing to spread harass and during the incident one of the accused Aftab Ahmad allegedly opened fire towards Atif Riaz in his tummy and he got seriously wounded and was rushed to the THQ hospital Burewala from where doctors referred him to Nishtar hospital Multan due to his critical condition but he succumbed to his injuries and expired in the midway. Rangers Police (R) Inspector Riaz Ahmad alleged that accused party previously injured his other son Farooq Riaz during a Kabaddi match at Chak No. 136/EB but issue was amicably settled between both parties. Saddar police have registered a murder case and started investigations.

PAIMAN & Health Department launched Community Midwife Program funded by USAID at THQ hospital Burewala

BUREWALA: District Health Department and Pakistan Initiative for Mothers and Newborns (PAIMAN) under the aegis of USAID launched its “Community Midwife” Program in Burewala sub-division during a ceremony at THQ hospital here on Tuesday.
District Coordination Officer, Vehari Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf was Chief Guest on the occasion who inaugurated three day free medical camp for mother and new born and Health Mela on the occasion. Population Department, Social Welfare and Community Welfare Society, Sudhar Development Foundation, Aurat Foundation, Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Marie Stopes Society and District Health Department have set up their camps on the occasions. Addressing a ceremony on the occasion District Coordination Officer, Vehari Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf said that physical support is must for the improvement in the society and there is a need in the behavior of doctors and patients for betterment in the health facilities. He said despite limited resources government institutions are striving hard to serve the people and urged the private sector and civil society to come up with practical solution for increasing the standards of ordinary men. PAIMAN Field Operation Manager Dr. Fazal Mahmood informed that PAIMAN is working for improving maternal and newborn health in the 10 districts to reached 2.4 million individuals earlier and last year PAIMAN Program has been extended to 24 district of the country. He said that 40 million rupees have been allocated for the purchase of equipments and ambulances while 7 million would be spent to improve civil health facilities. He said that we have also trained the medical staff according to the modern practices as well. He said Community midwife (CMW) has been trained on Essential MNCH and Basic and Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care to raise the mother and new born health. PAIMAN & Health department to launch “Community Midwife” Program in Burewala

BUREWALA: District Health Department Pakistan Initiative for Mothers and Newborns (PAIMAN) will launch its “Community Midwife” Program in a ceremony will be held on Tuesday, 29th September, 2009 at 10:00 AM at THQ hospital Burewala according to a press release here on Saturday.
District Coordination Officer Vehari Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf will be Chief Guest on the occasion while Executive District Officer- Health Vehari Dr. Muhammad Jamil and District Team PAIMAN would jointly organize the event. PAIMAN working for improving maternal and newborn health in the 10 districts to reached 2.4 million individuals with messages and information about maternal and newborn health care issues, about 31 public sector health facilities have been upgraded and re-equipped to provide 24/7 Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care Services in those districts while 1800 public sector providers have been trained on Essential MNCH and Basic and Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care. 600 private sector clinics have been established to provide care for poor urban populations. PAIMAN has distributed 70 thousand clean delivery kits in the community.

Mithu Dogar brother Sikandar Dogar along with his son and accomplices booked for life attempt charges

BUREWALA: Ex. MPA Dr. Nazir Mithu Dogar elder brother and chief whip of group Sikandar Dogar along with his son and accomplice booked by city police on the charges of life attempt at the cohort of City Nazim Ashiq Arain at O-block Tuesday night. Haji Muhammad Riaz Bhatti resident of 73-O Block Burewala reported to the city police that last night when he was sitting alongside City Nazim Ashiq Arain at his residence he received two different cell phone calls from Ex. MPA Dr. Nazir Ahmad Mithu Dogar elder brother Sikandar Dogar in which he threaten to kill Ashiq Arain on political rivalry and after hearing his calls he along with his others associates Javed Iqbal and Muhammad Hussain was leaving to his house when Sikandar Dogar along with his son Suhrab Dogar and accomplices Mubarak and others came there on motor-cycle and Car No Karachi-9077 and started torturing him. He alleged that Suhrab Dogar allegedly injured him with a handle of his pistol and Sikandar Dogar opened firing towards him that he fortunately escaped. He alleged that people of the area came for his rescue and saved his life. Haji Riaz Ahmad further alleged that reason of the incident is that “he is close ally of city Nazim Ashiq Arain with whom Sikandar Dogar has personal rivalry and due to this reason the attacked over him”. Meanwhile City police arrested Sikandar Dogar along with his son Suhrab Dogar and other accomplices and apprehended them in city police lockup. Police registered a case under section 324/337A-2/148/149/11-4-79 of PPC.

بورے والا: سٹی ناظم کے ساتھی پر قاتلانہ حملہ کے الزام میں سابق ایم پی اے مٹھو ڈوگر گروپ کے چیف وہپ سکندر حیات ڈوگر اور ان کے بیٹے سمیت 5افراد کے خلاف مقدمہ درج،تھانہ سٹی پولیس نے سکند رڈوگرکو نشہ کی حالت میں بیٹے اور ملازم سمیت گرفتار کر کے حوالات میں بند کر دیا ۔پولیس رپورٹ کے مطابق 73او بلاک بورے والا کے رہائشی حاجی محمد ریاض بھٹی نے الزام عائد کیا کہ وہ گذشتہ شب سٹی ناظم چوہدری محمد عاشق ارائیں کے پاس بیٹھا ہوا تھا کہ اس کو موبائل فون پرسابق ایم پی اے ڈاکٹر نذیر احمد مٹھو ڈوگر کے بڑے بھائی سکندر ڈوگر کی جانب سے دو مختلف نمبروں سے موصول ہونیوالی کالوں میں سٹی ناظم چوہدری محمد عاشق ارائیں کو قتل کرنے کی دھمکیاں دی گئیں یہ کال سن کر وہ اپنے دیگر ساتھیوں محمد حسین اور جاوید کے ہمراہ اپنے گھر کی طرف چلاگیا اور جونہی اپنے گھر کے سامنے پہنچا تو اچانک کراچی نمبر کی کا ر9070 اور موٹر سائیکل پر سکندر ڈوگر اپنے بیٹے سراب ڈوگر دیگر مسلح ساتھیوں کے ہمراہ وہاں آگئے اور اس کوللکارتے ہوئے جان سے مار دینے دھمکیاں دے کر اندھا دھند فائرنگ شروع کر دی اسی دوران سہراب ڈوگر نے پسٹل کا بٹ مار کر اس کو شدید زخمی کر دیا جس کے بعد سکندر ڈوگر نے اس پر قتل کی نیت سے سیدھا فائر کیا لیکن وہ خوش قسمتی سے بچ گیا ملزمان نے اس کے ساتھیوں کو ہوائی فائرنگ کرتے ہوئے دھمکیاں دیں کہ اگر کوئی آگے بڑھا تو اس کو جان سے مار دیں گے اسی اثناءمیںاہل محلہ جمع ہو گئے جنہوں نے ملزمان کی منت سماجت کرکے اس کی جان بخشی کروائی ۔ حاجی محمد ریاض بھٹی نے پولیس کو وجہ عناد میں بتایا کہ ملزم سکندر ڈوگر کی سٹی ناظم چوہدری عاشق ارائیں کے ساتھ دشمنی چلی آ رہی ہے اور اس کے سٹی ناظم سے ذاتی مراسم کا ملزمان کو رنج ہے جس کی بناءپر وہ اس پر حملہ آور ہوئے تھانہ سٹی پولیس نے بعد ازاں کاروائی کرتے ہوئے سکند رڈوگرکو نشہ کی حالت میں بیٹے اور ملازم سمیت گرفتار کر کے حوالات میں بند کر دیا اور ان کے خلاف کی دفعات کے تحت دو الگ الگ مقدمات درج کر لیے ۔
