Peace Seminar for security arrangements during Muharram-ul-Harram in district Vehari held

BUREWALA: District Police Officer, Vehari Akhtar Umar Hayat Lalyka on Saturday chaired a peace seminar at police lines Vehari to review the security arrangements for Muharram-ul-Harram. DPO, Vehari Akhtar Umar Hayat Lalyka addressing the participants of the seminar informed about prevailing law and order situation in the country with particular reference to Muharram-ul-Harram. He emphasized on the harmony between the various sects should be maintained at all cost and inconvenience should not be caused to the public while ensuring security arrangements during Muharram-ul-Harram. He said any individual or group, causing disturbance to the sectarian harmony is to be dealt with iron hand while effective arrangements should be made to prevent any terrorist attack. He said that “we have to unite as nation and chracrtor building is must to understand each other”. He said that Vehari police has set a control room with emergency phone number for the reporting of any danger. He said police commandoes of elite force and personnel of intelligence agencies in plain cloth have also been deployed in all sensitive areas and trouble spots in addition to imambargah and mosques. He said that all police officers have further been directed to establish close liaison with district and teshil peace committees for promoting harmony under the supervision of district Nazims and Town Nazims. One-man rule leads country to devastation: Nawaz Sharif

VEHARI – PML-N Quaid Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has said that 180 million people of Pakistan should support him to let recurring of a revolution like that of 15th March with a view to effecting a change in the destiny of this nation. Nawaz Sharif was addressing PML-N local workers Thursday after condoling with MNA Tehmina Daultana the death of her husband Zahid Anwar Wahla. He was accompanied by his wife Begum Kalsoom, CM Punjab Advisor Raja Ishfaq Sarwar, MNA Rana Mehmoodul Hassan, Saeed Mehdi and others. Nawaz said: “It is shameful that we are holding a begging bowl despite being an atomic power. He said the dictator has earned billions by surrendering our sovereignty, and now the nation should question about the spending of those dollars.” According to him, in Pakistan the dictators have violated the law, tore the Constitution and toppled the elected government to cater to their personal whims, and they played with the nation’s destiny and stability, but now the people should vow that they would change their own destiny by supporting us. He thanked God and said: “We have earned back what we had lost, and now our decisions are for the national integration and to uphold the dignity of the Constitution and give people their due rights. He expressed his resolve to take all-out measures against those who are undermining this country and creating chaos. Nawaz praised late Zahid Wahla’s services to the party and said he remained resolute in hard times. He also lauded Tehmina for her strong stance during the nine years of dictatorship. Online adds: Nawaz said one-man rule leads the country to annihilation. “Disasters overtake the country under one-man rule. We will have to reform ourselves,” he added.

PAIMAN & Health department to launch “Community Midwife” Program in Burewala

BUREWALA: District Health Department Pakistan Initiative for Mothers and Newborns (PAIMAN) will launch its “Community Midwife” Program in a ceremony will be held on Tuesday, 29th September, 2009 at 10:00 AM at THQ hospital Burewala according to a press release here on Saturday.
District Coordination Officer Vehari Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf will be Chief Guest on the occasion while Executive District Officer- Health Vehari Dr. Muhammad Jamil and District Team PAIMAN would jointly organize the event. PAIMAN working for improving maternal and newborn health in the 10 districts to reached 2.4 million individuals with messages and information about maternal and newborn health care issues, about 31 public sector health facilities have been upgraded and re-equipped to provide 24/7 Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care Services in those districts while 1800 public sector providers have been trained on Essential MNCH and Basic and Emergency Obstetric and Newborn Care. 600 private sector clinics have been established to provide care for poor urban populations. PAIMAN has distributed 70 thousand clean delivery kits in the community.

Police arrested Abdul Sattar Dogar a main suspect behind the murder of Mithu Dogar

BUREWALA: Gaggo mandi police have arrested Abdul Sattar Dogar a main suspect behind the murder of PML-N District President and Ex. MPA Dr. Nazir Ahmad Mithu Dogar from Sahiwal according to sources here on Monday.
Abdul Sattar Dogar a close relative of late Mithu Dogar took him alone to adjoining village 257/EB to attend a meeting, convened to strike a truce in between family members who were at loggerheads after the murder of his close relation Nadeem Dogar. when, some unknown persons intercepted his car and opened fire, killing Mithu Dogar. The accused took away Dr Nazir body in their car and thrown it near a graveyard of Chak No. 445/EB. Abdul Sattar arrest will disclose real culprits behind the murder. Police have also arrested four other in connection with murder charges nominated in the FIR including Retired DSP, Bashir Ahmad Dogar, Dowood Dogar, Imran Dogar and Sabir Dogar and only one nominated accused UC Naib Nazim Zahoor Ahmad Dogar is still at large.

Pesticides dealers observed complete strike

BUREWALA: Pesticides dealers of Vehari district observed complete strike and staged sin-in camps in three sub-divisions against the illegal sampling and harassment by the agriculture department here on Thursday.
The dealers representatives including Muhammad Naeem Pasha, Muhammad Akbar Sandhu, Muhammad Arshad Dholla, Irshad Hussain Bhatti, Fayyaz Hashmat and others in a protest meeting demanded of the provincial government to end the harassment of sampling as they are terrorists and are members of the society. They alleged that agriculture department is taking six samples at a time from one shop which is not according to the pesticides ordinance. They opined that pesticides dealers have invested billion of rupees with companies and purchase pesticides with dealership and invoice if the pesticides are adulterated and sub standard importers and distributors should be made of accountable. They said that sub standard and adulterations are same offence which is also not acceptable to them and government should initiate transparent strategy with the dealers in the regards.

MITHU DOGAR SHOT DEAD BY RIVALS

BUREWALA - PML-N District President and former MPA Dr Nazir Ahmad Mithu Dogar was shot dead by his rivals near Chak No257/EB the other night. Police said Mithu Dogar had gone to the adjoining village 257/EB to attend a ‘Panchayet’ meeting, convened to strike a truce between rival groups who were at loggerheads after the murder of his close relation Nadeem Dogar. It is said that he was on his way back, some unknown persons intercepted his car and opened fire, killing Mithu Dogar and injuring his two companions Basharat Gujjar and Abdul Sattar Dogar, a private TV channel reported. The accused, throwing Basharat Gujjar near Mana More Adda, took away Dr Nazir and Abdul Sattar Dogar in their car.

Later, Basharat informed the Sadr police about the incident. The police found his body from near village 445/EB graveyard. Gagoo Mandi police have registered a case against M Sabir, Union Naib Nazim, Sardar Zahoor Ahmad Dogar, Dawood Ahmad Dogar, Abdul Sattar Dogar, M Imran Dogar and retired DSP Bashir Ahmad Dogar on the report of Skindar Hayat Dogar, brother of the deceased Nazir Mithu Dogar.
According to police, former general secretary Burewala Bar Sardar Nadeem Dogar Advocate, cousin of Mithu Dogar was murdered about five months ago. Mithu Dogar and his brother Sardar Skindar Hayat Dogar were booked on abutment charges in this case. After cancellation of their interim bail, they were sent to District Jail Vehari.

On May 11, Lahore High Court Multan Bench grated bail to Mithu and Skindar.
On Saturday night, Abdul Sattar Dogar, a close relative of Mithu and brother -in-law of late Nadeem Dogar came to Mithu’s house and asked him to go to his village Chak 257/EB for reconciliation with the rivals in Nadeem Dogar murder case. Sattar took Mithu and his close friend Basharat Gujjar Advocate in his car towards fields at Katch Road. When they reached the fields the men hiding there opened indiscriminate fire at Mithu, killing him on the spot. Later, the accused persons dropped the body in Chak No 445/EB. Meanwhile, CM Shahbaz Sharif has expressed his condolence with the members of the bereaved family over the murder of Mithu Dogar.
According to family sources, the CM contacted on phone the family members Sunday and expressed his condolence.

Similarly, other PML-N senior leaders including Sardar Zulfiqar Ali Khosa, Javed Hashmi, Raja Ashfaq Sarwar and Mian Ghulam Hussain Shad have also telephoned to the family members of late Mithu and expressed their sorrow and grief.
The people of the area protested and chanted slogans against the killing of their leader. All bazaars, shopping centres and markets including Rail Bazaar, Arif Bazaar, Vehari Bazaar, College Road, Joyia Road, Grain Market, City Centre and Resham Gali remained closed.

BUREWALA: District Coordination Officer, Vehari Iftikhar Ahmad Sahu has urged the local people, traders, civil society and media men to monitor the development schemes to ensure quality of the material and advised the local TMA official to launch comprehensive campaign to lift cleanliness standards in the areas; he was presiding over a meeting at the office of DDO Revenue Burewala here on Wednesday. BUREWALA: Fateh Shah Police arrested a proclaimed offender involved in many heinous crime incidents; Punjab government already had announced one lakh rupees head money for the accused; this was stated by DSP, Burewala Malik Muhammad Rafique Khokhar while addressing a press conference at his office on Tuesday after-noon. DSP, Burewala Malik Muhammad Rafique Khokhar informed that three accused including Muhammad Hussain s/o Wazir Ali and Dilawar s/o Maqbool Dogar residents of Chak No. 327/EB and Muhammad Ashfaq alias Punjabi resident of Chak No. 243/EB allegedly murdered Muhammad Anwar son of Niaz Ahmad and injured Muhammad Iqbal in the village and Fateh Shah police registered a murder case and arrested one accused Muhammad Hussain and was sent to jail while Dilwar and Ashfaq alias Punjab were declared as proclaimed offenders and they were involved in many cases of robbery and theft. District Police Officer Vehari Ashar Hameed and DSP, Burewala Malik Muhammad Rafique given a special task Fateh Shah to nab the criminals and Punjab government already had already announced one lakh rupees head money for the accused and a police party police SHO Rai Muhammad Akram, SI Muhammad Afzal and other constables arrested the one of accused Muhammad Ashfaq alias Punjabi with possession of illegal arms. DSP, Burewala Malik Muhammad Rafique Khokhar confirmed that accused was involved in five major crime incidents and wanted by police. Water theft would be dealt with iron hands says DCO, Vehari

BUREWALA: District Coordination Officer (DCO), Vehari Capt (R) Muhammad Khurram Agha has said that those farmers who are involved in water logging would be dealt with iron hands to ensure smooth supply of water for the farmers at tails and added that agricultural lands would be evacuated from the illegal occupants and advised the concerned individuals to contact revenue department officials with proof of their land and revenue department and police would get possession back to legal heirs, he was addressing an open court at Joyia Bungalow Burewala here on Monday afternoon.
DCO, Vehari Khurram Agha said that open courts are arranged in the rural areas to benefit the people to get resolve their problems at their door steps on the direction of Chief Minister, Punjab Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif. He said that “Complaint Cell” has been formed by the district administration to maintain the record of complaints and asked complainants to keep track of their complaints through this cell. DPO, Vehari Ashar Hameed Chaudhry said that police is working hard to maintain law and order situation in the district and said that criminals would be dealt with iron hands. BUREWALA: The Pakistan Initiative for Mothers and Newborns (PAIMAN) launched its program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in the district Vehari to reduce maternal, newborn, and child mortality at district council hall here on Tuesday. The Pakistan Initiative for Mothers and Newborns (PAIMAN) Coordinator Dr. Nabila Ali giving introduction of the program said aid that is a five-year program funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). PAIMAN works with the Government of Pakistan on the implementation of the full spectrum of interventions necessary to address mother and newborn health, focusing on ten districts throughout Pakistan.
