Just a Moan

Now this may sound like I've completely lost the plot.
I a month of close family birthdays, the most being my wifes 40th. An important event which I and my children wish to celebrate.
So everything is sorted but where to go to eat! Now I know that this may sound nothing but have you ever sat back and thought about where you would want to go with a family to celebrate? The UK has become a split between fast food and all you can eat for a fiver (so long as you like microwaved food). I do not believe that I'm a snob but what's the point in spending good money to eat food that my own dog would turn her noise up to! All the independent restaurants are or about to close (Making away for more all you can eat)
When I was growing up (not that long ago) you would go for a meal and feel special, treated. Ok, yes is wasn't cheap but then you didn't go every week! That's all gone! At this rate there will be nothing out there to make you feel good. That's sad
Sorry for the moan but if nothing else I feel better!

No, not her cooking. You and the kids. Make her something special.
Look for recipes that are fairly easy but of higher quality than normal.
I know that when my husband cooks for me, I love it.
Maker her a nice fat filet with scallops on a bed of mash potatoes and asparagus.
Make her sushi!
Something different than the normal every day stuff.
Out of scratch of course.

I've arranged for her family to meet us at a restaurant without her knowing.
My Wife always puts herself out for others and I want to try to that this isn’t taken for granted. She has five brothers and sisters and its told quite a lot to even arrange for two of them to come, I still have no idea if her parents are coming? Mad I know, even more so when you consider that they are actually a close family!!
I may have found a restaurant that admittedly is part of a chain but only of three. Spoke to a friend that said that the food was ok, so I’m going to ring today to see if I can book.
On a different issue, how the wind their? (others reading this will wonder about this comment ha ha)

Today is a bit cloudy but no rain
Hurricane is hitting Cuba dirty style, though.
