Since when is the UK water-poor?

Come again?
We're awash with the stuff, apart from when the privatised water companies manage to lose it all through leakage.
What the government needs to do is make the water companies invest properly in infrastructure repairs and replacement, and ban them from doling out shareholder dividends until they have got leakages under control and enough up to date provision for the next 50 years.
Here's some news for those charities: we are not in the Sahara. Water in the UK is not a scarce resource, and we don't need this sort of scaremongering and alarmism, thank you. you do your credibility no good whatsoever with this sort of stuff.
