Beautiful shots. I so like the Blue Herons. It amazes me that they can swallow something that big in one gulp!

Lois 25. April 2009, 18:46

Thanks Robin, I like them too, they are so beautiful! Yes, you would think they would choke on something that large!

Adele 25. April 2009, 19:45

Very well caught - you and the heron! :D

Lois 25. April 2009, 22:00

Thanks Adele!

Great series of action shots Lois.

Lois 25. April 2009, 23:41

Thanks PW!! I was on the cell phone with my dad when this happened and I was busy clicking away while I was talking to him, telling him - "He's caught a fish, Ohhhh, he's eating it!!"

Keith Bates 26. April 2009, 07:42

Not only do you take great photos, you multi-task as well!

Lois 26. April 2009, 12:22

 Thanks Keith!

PainterWoman 26. April 2009, 15:27

 Lois I would not have been able to do that. I found out at the dentist I could not multi-task. The hygienest gave me a small cup of liquid and told me to swish for one minute. A second later while I was swishing, she handed me a pen and a postcard to fill out my name and address. I immediately went for the little cup to spit and she repeated, swish for one minute. I couldn't write and swish at the same time.

 Sometimes I'm like that too. If I'm doing accounting, I block out everything but what I'm doing. I've come back to the real world at the office to find people have been trying to get my attention and laughing because I'm in the world of numbers! I've had to tell them to come and hit me or something!

Anna 26. April 2009, 19:28

Wonderful series of hunting heron  Each shot is good as it is, but together they make an excellent post!

Brian 26. April 2009, 21:41

Lois 27. April 2009, 02:01

Thanks Anna!! I was happy to finally get some good shots. The day before wasn't so great!

Wow, those are some awesome action shots! I've seen a Great Blue Heron hunting a fish at a pond nearby one day, but didn't have a camera.

Lois 1. May 2009, 00:35

Thanks FXM! They are such beautiful birds, I have a million pictures of them just standing there, it was nice to get one where he was actually doing something interesting.

Christine 2. May 2009, 14:20

Excellent sequence of shots! I laughed at the last one as he looks so pleased with himself :D

Lois 2. May 2009, 16:33

Thanks very much! It's a lot of fun to catch these guys doing interesting things.
