Journey in Life

Let us fix our eyes on Jesus the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him, took up the cross, scorning its shame and now seated at the right hand of the throne of God. (Hebrews 12:2)

CNY Break

Thank God for the 4 day Chinese New Year break which I managed to catch up on my sleep. I have not been sleeping well for the past 2 weeks due to a particular project.

Besides getting some badly needed sleep, I met up with an old friend on Sunday and attended a church leader open house dinner on Monday evening. The holidays was a good time for me to catch up with my reading on a couple of books.

Potential Secondment to Audit - Continued

Thank God I was not seconded to audit since January. However I was assigned for an overseas assignment in a neighbouring country.

Uncertain Times

, ,

I have never been praying as fervently for the nation this year compared to previous years in my spiritual life. This is especially due to the turbulent times the nation is going through.

Potential Secondment to Audit

At the way things are going in my department, I could be seconded to the Audit Department again due to fewer projects secured for January 2010. This is the same situation which my department experienced in early 2009 where there were also very few projects available.

I dread working in audit again especially with the long hours and messy working papers file. It is also not comforting to know that most audit departments are understaffed.

2010

,

It is 7 days into the new year.

I strongly believed that 2010 will be the year of God's favour for me despite the fact that 2010 could be a challenging year for me.

I am really waiting and believing for God's favour to shine mightily upon my career direction this year. I have spent almost 4 enjoyable years working with my current employer and felt that 2010 may be the time for me to try something new. I thanked God that He has closed certain career options which I later find that I may not be able to do well in them after months of prayers. Thank God that He knows what is best for me.

I hope and believed in faith that I can clear the CFA Level 3 exams this year as working and studying for the past 4 years is a very difficult thing for me to do continually.

2009 Reflections - Part 2

,

2009 is a year of positioning for me which I finally found where God called me to be in ministry. There is a peaceful feeling, a God-given peace to finally be found doing His will.

Spiritually, 2009 was an eventful year for me. I remembered being blessed and challenged to discover my position in Christ and to move up to the next level from the Power Conference by Dr. Bernard Blessing and the night services of the APYAC 2009.

I was also blessed by the Young Adults Camp which is the most unique camp in my experience as there was plenty of time to relax and refresh. Besides, the morning services starts at 10 am in contrast to other camps previously which starts about 9 am. It was a great experience in seeking and hearing from God in all but the last service. In other words, there was no preaching in 3 out of 4 serivces which was replaced by seeking God and ministering to others.

The challenging part of 2009 is maintaining my TAWG.

2009 Reflections - Part I

,

2009 has been a challenging and eventful year for me from many perspectives.

1) Work
I was seconded to audit for 5 weeks in the first quarter of the year and then 5 weeks in business recovery in June to July. Honestly, I never liked the work in auditing as I was required to clear up someone else mess. I found that doing business recovery work is not my cup of tea.

Besides that, I was involved in 3 financial due diligence projects which is the lowest number of projects involved during my stay in TS.

2) Studies
I failed my Level 3 exams in my first attempt. Need to try harder and smarter next year.

3)Weddings
2009 is the year of weddings for me. I attended 8 weddings (5 church friends, 2 colleagues and a college friend). I declined 2 wedding invitations due to overlapping weddings.

2010 Theme

APYAC was great and awesome (I only attended the night rallies). I will blog on APYAC at a later time.

One the first night (Thursday) when I was praying in the altar, I heard God spoke to me about the theme for my life for 2010:

1) 2010 is a year of strength and building faith

2) 2010 will be a year of restoration. I felt comforted by God's promise that He will repair and restore all the broken walls in me.

Looking Forward to 2010 (Part 2)

,

2010 will be a challenging year.

- Preparing for the exams is no easy task especially when the syallabus is very deep and wide. I do tend to forget some of the materials which I had studied earlier.

- I may face a possible career change. I feel it may be time to try something new.

- The challenge to not just maintain my service for God but to expand my service for Him.

Looking Forward to 2010 (Part 1)

The year 2009 will be over in less than 30 days.

It is my practice to take a reflection of my life in 2009 (e.g. what I had achieved and what I did not achieve). December is also a time where I make plans for the year ahead.

I feel that 2010 will be a very challenging year for me.
