Journey, Church Events
I attended my church Young Adults Camp in Lanjut Resort which is located at Rompin, Pahang. The camp is entitled 24 because we have 24 hours in a day and we are constantly challenged with pressures from work, studies, church activities and TAWG with God.
I had high expectations for the Camp and I am glad that all of the expectations were fulfilled. It was I my mind to sign up for this Camp.
I was reading a book written by Neil Andersen entitled "When Trying Harder Isn't Enough". There was a bible verse that caught my attention from Matthew 11:28 - Come to me who are weak and weary and I will give you rest. This verse has been on my mind for the entire one month period prior to attending the Camp.

After a time of praise and worship on a Saturday morning, Dr. Timothy Sng (a renowned neurologist from SIBKL) delivered the first sermon entitled God at Work. The following are some of the takeaway points:
1) We are unique and special to God
2) God is using us as His vessels to impact the market place
3) The SEEDS principle:
S = Sow and share the Word
E = Encourage and Enable Others
E = Engage the tougher ones
D = Defend the faith
S = Shine for Jesus

The Conference started at about 9 pm. We were blessed to have Joanne Yeoh, a renowned international violinist to launch the Conference. This was followed by worship lead by the Youth Alive Malaysia.
Mr. Benny Ong gave the Friday night sermon. It was an anointed message which challenges us to always live by the truth even it may take a longer effort / journey compared to living by conviniences. He also challenged us to be a promise keeper whereby Christians should fulfill their promises even though there may be a high price to pay.
The main take away point is this many Christians do not live in the truth because they do not trust in God's and the Bible's promises.

I enjoyed the 2009 Influence Conference which was held on 24th and 25th of July. The conference is to challenge young working adults of how to be an influencer in the market place. More than 360 people attended the conference.
The speakers are Mr. Benny Ong (the founder of a financial advisory firm in Singapore), Dato' Daniel Tay (senior partner from Ibrahim Tay & Partners), Dr. Timothy Sng (a neurologist) and Rev. Clement Wong (Youth Alive Malaysia Director). Each speaker was used by God during the conference to impact and challenge the participants in a different but special way.
There was a Q&A session followed by the 5pm annointing service conducted by Rev. Clement Wong, an annointed man of God with 26 years in ministry. It is good to see so many people being impacted and touched by God.
I will write more at a later time for the 6 sermons given by the speakers.

I was blessed and challenged by the Spiritual Parenting session last Saturday and Sunday. The session was conducted by a team headed by Ps. Danny Leong from Trinity Christian Center, Singapore. Aproximately 350 people attended the Saturday session.
During the Saturday session, Ps. Danny highlighted the importance of spiritual parenting. Spiritual parenting is important as Jesus has called us at the end of Matthew 28 to make disciples of men not converts. Besides, there is a strong emphasis on nurturing new converts that they will be mature in faith and can reach out to others.
The main focus on Saturday was also on how to pray for our oikos using the five fingers method. The thumb symbolized that the oikos is precious to God. The second finger is to bind Satan which accuses the oikos. The third finger is to ask the Holy Spirit to convict the oikos. The fourth finger is to pray for God to orchestrate events to speak to the oikos and the last finger is a prayer of commitment for God to use us as vessels to reach out to the oikos.

I had an interesting Saturday service where the mission team from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka shared about their experience and challenge us to go for missions. It was interesting to know that most of the team members are first timers for missions. Besides, it was exciting to hear how God moved mightily where souls been saved and healings taking place.
I was challenged by the testimonies given by each team member. One of the testimony is God is able to use anyone as long as we surrender all our talents and gifts to Him. Secondly, when God equips us, we will be able to do things (e.g. preaching) that we have not done before. In other words, mission trips unlocks God's potential in our lives.
At the end of the service, flags of individual countries (including those where GTPJ is involved in missions) are carried to the front. We are all asked to pray for those countries and to make a commitment to make at least one mission trip in our lives.
For myself, it is a soul searching experience. I know that I need to go for some mission trips just waiting for God to speak clearly as to where and when to go.

I really expect in my heart that God will restore my altar of praise and worship. Been quite a while since I am able to concentrate 100% in worship. I hope that it will be a great time proclaiming God's presence, promises and faithfulness in my life.

Journey, Church Events
My church will once again be having its annual worship night. I planned to attend as I missed the previous year worship night. Most of us will likely to understand the meaning of worship but how do we worship?
The Scripture says that in John 4:24 - God is in Spirit and His worshippers must worship in spirit and in truth.
For myself, "in spirit" means that worshipping not just with our lips but with our hearts and minds. It involves meditating on the words of the song, how God has impacted our lives and His faithfulness. Most importantly it involves us preparing ourselves before the praise and worship session by prayers and intercession.
"In Truth" to me means living on God's commandments which involves being a good witness and a pure life. This is because Christian life is not focused on Saturdays or Sundays but on a daily basis. Although we do stumble and fall each day, we need to confess our sins and failings daily to maintain an open heaven with God. It also involves maintaining a pure heart and attitude during worship.

It is amazing how God speaks through this man of God. The word was preached from Psalms 37 where verse 4 is my favorite verse: Delight yourself in the Lord and He will grant you the desires of your heart.
Two takeaway points are:
1) Do not envy others especially in the ministry as each of us will be going through different seasons. Our time of rising and great breakthrough will eventually come in God's timing.
2) Do Good. This reflects the verse which mentioned that he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.

I am blessed by the sermon during the Saturday service where Dr. Bernard preached from Psalms 37. One of the key points is ' Do not fear '.
Fear is the opposite of faith and is among the greatest hindrance for a Christian to move to the next level. Some of the fears are the fear of the unknown, moving out of our comfort zone, fear of failures and fear of rejection.
To overcome fear, I realised that we need to speak God's promises and not fear or negatives into our lives. Besides, casting all the fears and worries in life to God really helps (1 Peter 5:7).
There are times when it is necessary to confront those fears in our lives instead of letting them control our lives that causes us to miss God's given opportunities.
