Exactly What Is A 4G Network And Is There One Available Now?
Discussion of 4G networks has been heard for some time, and like the upgrade from 2G to 3G networks, promises to bring many different additional features. Lately, one of the major cell phone network companies-T-Mobile, has announced the launch of the country’s biggest 4G network, but is it actually?
The fact is that no one presently has a nationwide 4G network, in spite of claiming that they do. As with any prior networking standards, the 4G network standard has been decided on an international level by the body called the International Telecommunication Union. This particular body has discussed, in conjunction with major service providers and technology developers the needs and standards that a 4G device as well as network should fulfill.
At the moment, there is not a real 4G network out there. T-mobile promises to have a 4G network; however, it does not provide all the benefits that the 4G network will have. It is faster though, and it has a few of the same features.
It is interesting to notice that AT&T Mobile operate the same standard on the same kind of network as T-Mobile do, but with no 4G claims. Others too currently have upgraded their own operations to higher running speeds in order to compete efficiently, without making the false claims.
What will a 4G network offer that a 3G system doesn't already give us? The real difference would be the speed of mobile internet. It will be as much as 1Gbit. Speeds already are increasing, but no company can offer this at this time.
All the networks are supposed to operate entirely on an internet protocol based system. This means that even calls are going to be carried on the same lines, and there will be no necessity for separate means of caring the data. Data is expected to also be seamless so that this can prevent a lot of dropped calls.
What will occur since these claims have already been made prematurely? A lot of customers are going to be misled and subscribe to the technology which cannot be given. Some people will like the higher speed that is available, but others will certainly question why T-Mobile can once again launch a 4G network when technology catches up, and also the standards will be implemented.
The incorrect claims are being made to take customers from other companies that do not claim they have the 4G network available yet. Many people will be wise enough to see this technology is not yet available and will not fall for the false claims.
Worse, unless you buy a new cell phone which will work with the new standards they've implemented, you won't be capable of benefit from the upgrades anyway. So when the real 4G is released, these phones may not be able to fully benefit either, leaving customers in a rather difficult limbo.
