shakespeare's sonnet no:138

When my love swears that she is made of truth, I do believe her though I know she lies,
That she might think me some untutored youth,
Unlearned in the world's false subtleties.
Thus vainly thinking that she thinks me young,
Although she knows my days are past the best,
Simply I credit her false-speaking tongue:
On both sides thus is simple truth suppressed:
But wherefore says she not she is unjust?
And wherefore say not I that I am old?
O! love's best habit is in seeming trust,
And age in love, loves not to have years told:
Therefore I lie with her, and she with me,
And in our faults by lies we flattered be.

Distance and imagination:
....
This universe is seen by only one person, and thus, it is partly the creation of that person: Its existence depends on his ability to see with his heart.

Take away our illusions and you take away life itself.

I am curious. May I ask why you have posted it? Why does this sonnet appeal to you or interest you? Are there other sonnets that you like?

Yes i love many other sonnets of Shakespeare..for instance the famous one that starts with 'Shall I compare thee to a...' I am sure u know about this one.
As to why I chose this sonnet is, it is really sweet and melodious...It runs like a song and though the poet is not happy with the lover but still talking about her which shows how weak the man is in front of his love
