Career Keb' Mo' Tickets - An Intriguing Mix Of Delta Blues And Pop Posted By: Brent Warnken

, , ,

With his trademark hat and guitar, Keb' Mo' seems to transcend generations; some might even say he's a musician of the ages. It's not hard to imagine Keb' Mo' perched on a barstool crooning the blues to collected gathering of patrons in darkened lounge during the turn of the 20th century. Mo' has the attention of an entire generation of youngsters in the 21st century and he's certainly been busy breathing heart and soul into blues music genre.

He's gained prominence for his pop-blended blues arrangements, several of which he has collaborated on with high profile musicians. It is his voice, however, accompanied by just the strings on his guitar that can hush crowds. It is a soulful, sorrowful, weaving story that Keb' Mo' tells through his blues. Tap your feet to these unmistakably Delta-influenced beats by going online and getting a pair of Keb' Mo' tickets.

Born Kevin Moore in 1951, Mo' was a frequent listener of gospel music and took his interest in music a step further when he decided to join an R&B band in his early twenties. During this early stage in his career he collaborated with several well-known artists including Jefferson Starship and Loggins and Messina.

Rainmaker, his R&B solo album from 1980, failed to capture mainstream attention and shortly afterwards the struggling musician turned his gaze towards the blues genre. Although he had little experience with the sound and style of the genre, he quickly began to understand its underlying melodies and started playing consistently around Los Angeles with a small vocal group called the Rose Brothers.

In 1994, the artist now known as Keb' Mo' made his official debut as a blues musician with the release of a self-titled full-length album. The collection featured two Robert Johnson covers and displayed his work on both the guitar and the banjo. It was an impressive new start for Keb' Mo' and he took his ambitions even further with a follow-up album called Just Like You, which featured a full band. Some of his standout tracks from this second record included: "That's Not Love," "I'm on Your Side" and "Momma, Where's My Daddy." The effort went on to win Keb' Mo' his first Grammy Award.

He continued garnering attention for his work with the following albums Slow Down (which earned him another Grammy), Big Wide Grin, Keep It Simple and Peace...Back by Popular Demand. His latest studio album arrived in 2006, Suitcase. Once again he emphasized his commitment to true blues roots and sang plenty of stories about personal struggles and redemption as reflected on tunes like "Your Love," "Suitcase" and "Life Is Beautiful."

Over the years Keb' Mo' has re-connected audiences to the sounds of traditional blues and has reinvented the genre as a whole. Today he enjoys a massive following, all of whom would probably follow him down the Mississippi River in hopes of hearing a little bit of true Delta Blues. Get your tickets to see him live onstage.
