Chapter 202: Hallelujah Eh!

, ,

The African Night practices were so much fun!

I took special note on this particular song, because it has been drumming in my head for the whole day!

It is so addictive eh eh eh eh eh - I think I should teach this song in cell.

Hallelujah eh...
Hallelujah eh...
I will worship thy Lord
For He has done it for me
I will worship
Eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh eh!

Chapter 198: That Little Gesture

, ,

Jon and I got into a little misunderstanding halfway during worship practice.

The scenario:

We were running through 'Desert Song' for the second time, because the first run was building up too much speed. So, Hwee Yen wanted to slow things down a little. As usual, Cason was on the piano, while Jon was on the electric guitar on the opposite side. Levi was the drummer for the night.

The sequence of events are as follow:

1. Cason was trying to indicate to Jon that Levi was drumming too fast, by waving his hands down.
2. Jon thought that Cason was telling him to sshhhhh!
3. Jon got quite irked because he couldn't hear himself at all; what more lowering down his own volume!
4. Cason felt bad over the whole misunderstanding, and wanted to apologise badly.

But thank God the air is clear, and we are able to laugh over that 'little gesture' which had caused the misunderstanding.

I won't wave my hand next time!

Seriously stupid :lol:

Chapter 178: Aww...

I went to church and found out that I am not in the worship team this week awww

Chapter 124: Random 'I-Shouldn't-Be-Blogging' Post

, ,

Yay, I'll be going off early from work today :D

I've already told my boss upfront that I am leaving sharp for worship practice at church tonight - means I'll be able to serve in worship team this Sunday! I have been swapping duties for weeks already, and I am so deprived of serving Him.

I thank God for giving me an opportunity to lead worship and play the guitar in Junior Church last Sunday. It was a great joy to see the kids singing, raising hands and worshiping God in an earnest way. Absolutely no self-consciousness and pretense.

I should not be blogging at the first place, but what am I doing now?

Haha, perhaps I am all hyped up for the weekend already. It's Thursday!

On a side note, my eyesight has gone worse - especially my right eye :irked: Like Ben said, "It is a job hazard", since I work in front of my laptop approximately 12-18 hours a day. I was trying to squint my eyes to read some words afar in the office, and I can't read it!

Grrr...

Okay, back to work.

Chapter 36: Sweet Dreams

, ,

Come Holy Spirit, fall on me now
I need Your anointing, come in Your power
I love You, Holy Spirit
You captivated my soul
And everyday I grow to love You more

I left my Amarok player on the whole night...

I am a person who rarely turns on any music while I am sleeping because I generally prefer quietness. To be honest, I get easily agitated even with the slightest noise during my sleep. I have very low tolerance to noise (everything sounds like noise to me when I am sleeping). Thus, it is difficult for me to get enough sleep during camps, especially around people who snore (no offense!).

Last night was an exception for me as I left some music on while I sleep. I woke up many times during the night - trying to adjust the volume - so as to prevent the music to sound like 'noise'. Alas, I found the perfect volume, before I head off to sleep again.

God just took over in His special way.

It really felt as though the Holy Spirit was hovering over my sleep.

Such a sweet, sweet presence...

...Nothing compares to this place, where I can see You face to face

In that moment, I really thought I was in heaven with God.

P/S: Qi Wen sms-ed me all the way from UK yesterday at 4.15 a.m, so happy!

Chapter 24: Indescribable

, , , ...

Pastor Gwen shared about Psalms 145:1-7 during our first concert meeting in the pantry (which is going to be the main theme verses for the GTPJ concert on 6th October)

This psalm speaks of God's greatness; beyond any superlative, and how we, as children of God simply worship Him for who He is. It is because of His unfathomable greatness that David chose to praise and exalt God in his entire life.

Can we ever be like David - a man after God's heart?

The mere fact of us attending church faithfully every Saturday or Sunday, and worshipping Him with our singing, clapping, dancing, jumping, shouting, and kneeling does not even qualify us for being anything like David. Many times, we can be overly-conscious with our surroundings or what people may think about us that our act of worship simply becomes a façade.

When we genuinely worship God in spirit and in truth, our singing, clapping, dancing, jumping, shouting and kneeling will extend beyond the boundaries of the church. As what Pastor Gwen has pointed out, we need to live out our Christian walk. Our lives are to be a reflection of His mighty works, His majesty, His power and His abundant goodness.

We need to live out our Christian walk...

Psalms 145 has been translated very interestingly in The Message. I encourage you to take time reflecting on each verse carefully, and make it as a personal yardstick to the Lord.

1 I lift you high in praise, my God, O my King! and I'll bless your name into eternity.

2 I'll bless you every day,
and keep it up from now to eternity.

3 God is magnificent; he can never be praised enough.
There are no boundaries to his greatness.

4 Generation after generation stands in awe of your work;
each one tells stories of your mighty acts.

5 Your beauty and splendour have everyone talking;
I compose songs on your wonders.

6 Your marvellous doings are headline news;
I could write a book full of the details of your greatness.

7 The fame of your goodness spreads across the country;
your righteousness is on everyone's lips.

These verses felt like a fresh revelation from God...

This is how a modern-day David should be:
To tell stories of God's mighty acts, to compose songs of His wonders, and be able to write a book describing His greatness!
