3rd Eye

I kissed your third eye
The one that Hindus
Paint the beauty mark
Of Shiva
Or the amethyst gem
That releases sun
Upon my broken lips.
I kissed your third eye
To tap into its mirror
The blinking layers
Of transcendence
As my lips quiver
Embracing the edge
Of your sixth chakra
I kissed your third eye
To view its private message
One of kindred spirits
Rising from the dead earth
And searching through an hour
Glass of time
Beyond the ages of some
Predetermined culture
I kissed your third eye
To inscribe a patterned trace,
A hieroglyphic message
That leaves your other
Troubled eyes
With abundant spaces
Of quiet solitude.
I kissed your third eye,
And tonight, I touch my lips
And taste the bend of time
Design a lens above my brow
As it opens to new light
In the northern hemisphere
