Sure, They Are Hypocrites, But At Least They Are Honest

Borders and Waldenbooks stores will not stock the April-May issue of Free Inquiry magazine because it contains cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad that provoked deadly protests among Muslims in several countries.

"For us, the safety and security of our customers and employees is a top priority, and we believe that carrying this issue could challenge that priority," Borders Group Inc. spokeswoman Beth Bingham said Wednesday.


No bullshit about tolerance or the right to be free from offense, just an admission that they are scared of being bombed. Good for them.

My local Borders used to have an annual "Banned Books Day," when they had a display of books that had been banned in different places. Someday, I hope they include this magazine issue included in the display.
