I am tired of studying.

  • Al Qaeda and Hezbollah are angry at each, calling each other US/Israel-front groups. I can't say that I don't enjoy this rivalry.

Yet al-Qaida in Iraq and Lebanon's Hezbollah are waging a worsening verbal dispute that threatens to burst into confrontation.

First came a fiery diatribe from al-Qaida in Iraq leader Abu Musab al-Zarqawi — just a week before he was killed by a U.S. airstrike — accusing Hezbollah of acting as a protective buffer for Israel.

Hezbollah, generally reserved in its comments on internal Islamic issues, began to react: One of its main political figures told The Associated Press it wasn't his group at all but al-Zarqawi that was the "tool" of United States and Israel.

The accusations on their face could be seen as little but competing propaganda. But the animosity runs far deeper than these two radical groups. There is a growing divide in the Middle East between Sunni Muslim extremists, including al-Zarqawi's group, and Shiite Muslim militants personified by Hezbollah.

Many see the emerging tensions as a dangerous trend that could lead to violent Shiite-Sunni conflict not just in Iraq but around the Persian Gulf.

  • Of course it is not related to the North Koreans...the US had another successful shoot-down of a ballistic missile in testing yesterday. The system is 7-for-8 in tests.
  • CAIR says the 7 AQ wannabees in Miami are not Muslims. The families agree with CAIR. Oddly, the 7 said that they are Muslims.
  • The NY Times publishes yet another secret: US intentions to withdraw from Iraq.

General Casey’s briefing has remained a closely held secret, and it was described by American officials who agreed to discuss the details only on condition of anonymity.

  • Iran says US is paper tiger, threatens to underground development of nukes. Meanwhile, they are deploying Revolutionary Guard troops to Syria's border with Israel.
  • More Kos, if you are still following the story. David Brooks of the NYT stomps on Kos.

The latest from Kos' buddy at MyDD.com, who is consulting for Democratic candidates:

A couple notes on Mark Warner Saj Sun: 1) he will have a solar eclipse natal Sun conjunction on Dec 14th of this year; also being conjuncted by Chiron; and Pluto coming into a long progressed conjuct/trine natal(similar to Daschle’s), so he’s got some LT power moves showing starting soon!
He’s got a natal near exact Venus/Saturn in Scorpio conjunction, so he’s got dedicated supporters for his Democratic brand of compassionate conservatism politics. His current transit of progressed Venus conjunct his Sun in Saj, and transiting Saturn oppostite this from Gemini coming on over the next year, bode well, transforming the Democratic leadership in Virginia(perhaps meaning national prominence for him as well).

Update: Fjordman lists out the depressing state of Mulsim immigrants in Europe. As always, I wonder how this can be true but never covered by mainstream media.
  1. Rape quadrupling in 20 years, with 85% of those convicted being immigrants or children of immigrants?
  2. Immigrants 10X more likely to be on welfare than native Norwegians?
  3. 82% of all crimes in Copenhagen committed by immigrants or children of immigrants?
  4. Muslims are 70% of the French prison population?
  5. In Sweden, 9 of the 10 most criminal ethnic groups are Muslim?
  6. 80% of Muslims in Britain receive welfare benefits?

Something went wrong in Europe.
