- Olmert backtracked again, allowing the IDF to attack up to the Litani River. 40,000 Israeli troops are available to attack the area, the origin of 70% of the rockets fired into Israel.
- Meanwhile, Olmert has accepted the latest ceasefire terms. The existing UN peacekeeping team will be enlarged to 15,000 troops to better
colaboratedeal with Hezbullah. I agree with Likud-nik Silvan Shalom: Israel is in a worse position now than before the war. Israel won't even get its kidnapped soldiers back.
A positive opinion: Powerline says Hezbullah will not disarm, no one can force them to disarm, so the resolution is null and void. Except the world will blame Israel for on-going violence and ignore Hezbullah's breaking of the terms of the ceasefire.
-
Walid Phares:
For anyone who still thinks the Israeli-Lebanon war is just a border scuffle, one Middle East expert shouts a dire warning: "As soon as a cease fire occurs, the ‘Hezbollah Blitzkrieg' will crumble the ‘Lebanese Republic of Weimar' and install its own ‘Khumeinist Republic' on the Eastern shores of the Mediterranean. The consequences of such a development are far beyond imagination for the region and the world. Hezbollah would have paved the way for Iran to create the mother of all world threats since Hitler."
- Want to know what's wrong with the current ceasefire resolution? Here. More details at the JPost. CQ says Israel has to play Beat The Clock.
- The State Department works again Israel, this time fighting to stop speedy delivery of rocket systems that can be used against rocket launchers in Lebanon.
-
Wretchard: Wikipedia's official entry for Benjamin Netanyahu says it is "widely anticipated that a no-confidence vote will lead to new elections with Netanyahu becoming the next Prime Minister of Israel." Good, the sooner, the better.
- Explosives found a UK flight on Sunday? That is the unverified report. The attacks were planned for August 16th, not the 22nd as many have speculated. A plotter's martyrdom video was found.
- An NBC reporter doesn't understand why the Administration kept knowledge of the UK bombing plot secret until after the arrests. Friggin' moron...because you would have put it on the evening news, Kevin.
- Terror attacks are because of Iraq? Nope. Post her list on your favorite Lefty site.
- The Times Online calls for crushing the Islamist true believers to liberate Islam.
There is no doubt that force is often needed to break the terror machines that hold whole societies hostage. Algeria could not have returned to normal political life without defeating armed Islamists. Lebanon cannot live in peace unless Hezbollah is disarmed and turned into an ordinary political party.
Iraq will not know stability unless the insurgents and foreign terrorists are militarily crushed. But the war on terror has been won in several countries and can be won in others provided all those who wish to defeat Islamism remain united, resolute and patient.
- The DailyPundit isn't very, very unhappy with Bush. His actions don't come close to matching his rhetoric.
The Bush administration does not want Hezbullah to win in Lebanon.
The Bush administration pushed a UN resolution to end fighting in Lebanon, saving Hezbullah from defeat and increasing the future likelihood of bloodshed in Israel. If the US had done nothing, the war would have continued until Hezbullah was destroyed.
Therefore, the Bush administration must have gotten something that is more important than the defeat of Hezbullah. What is it? The support of the Saudis and other business Muslims (as opposed to Islamists) against terrorism? Something that would stabilize Iraq? Inquiring minds want to know.
The UN? "Stop the bloodshed" unless it is Israeli blood, of course.

It doesn't matter anything else now . It is over no matter what. The only viable option was to crush Hezbollah. It is now obvious that Israel did not have the will for that and never will. That was the chance, the opportunity has gone forever.
This gives Hezbollah a victory world wide . They will be celebrating in Canada. They usually hold protest/hate parades , now they will hold victory parades.
Bush and Olmert has made Hezbollah incredibly strong no matter what happens in Lebanon now.
Hezbollah was not crushed. They know now they cannot be beaten . They know now that no country has the will to stand against them. That alone guarantees wave after wave of terror attacks launched from inside Canada and against Canada.
..
Israel has committed suicide, Canada is following them. Let them all be damned, they have chosen their fate. Westerners are walking dead people. I abandon all of of them. I don't care what the terrorists do to Israel, Canada or America anymore, it's not my business. No one can help those who do not help themselves.

Israel has signed its death warrant -- it has lost the will to survive. Unless there is a massive political upheaval within the next few weeks, Israel will cease to exist as a nation within the next ten years. The ten years will shrink to five if Democrats are returned to power within the USA.

Next time, it will be bloodier with a better prepared Hezbullah, a more violent provocation against Israel, and a more confident Iran backing the terrorists. Time is not on Israel's side.
And the attack will accomplish little. Hezbullah knows the deadline, so they will duck and run for the next week or two. Even if Hezbullah keeps firing missiles, I expect Olmert to honor the ceasefire. Bring on Bibi...

I am not interested in suicidal nations or suicidal people.
It is impossible to support a cause when there is no organization to support.
I withdraw all my support of Israel and Bush and his lies about a "War on Terror".
I deleted all my blog posts and removed the flags:
"I am a proud supporter of Israel "
and "I am pro-victory"
I also will not honour any 9-11 "victim" on any blog.
I don't know if they were a victim or not. If they were a liberal or a leftie or a terrorist supporter , they deserved to die. I want to see the proven credentials first of anyone before before I support or honour them.
From now on , let the world burn. It's not my business.

"All that is required for evil to triumph is for good men to stand by and do nothing" (or words to that effect)- Edmund Burke
If there is not an organization to support, then it falls to us to build it. If there is no coordination, it is up to us to coordinate among ourselves and build that network.
If there remain good men and women in the world, we must stand and be counted, for there is no other choice.
What conceit to demand that a people "deserved to be saved". That point is irrelevant. If it is within our power, we should save them because it is the right thing to do. Why silently condone slaughter as "deserved"?
Or else, we might as well go just as quietly as the rest. I myself would prefer to a be a bit louder.

It's interesting to me that my 15-month old daughter responds the same way when the powers that be (me and hubby) make decisions she doesn't like (and our decisions are always perfect or even good, but we learn)...she throws down in anger whatever she is holding and tries to hit whatever is closest at hand.
Sure, the mature response is to stop fighting the good fight. The mature response is to assume we know what's really going on out there. The mature response is to cry, whine, stomp our feet and quit. Yep, that's the mature response.
Or...we could figure that it's an incredibly complex world. We are going to take stances, believe in people, and be disappointed with their actions. Some of those people will cause us to feel angry, depressed..."all is lost, give it up!" My personal opinion is that the enemy wants us to do just that and as long as I believe in what I'm fighting for (whatever it might be), as long I study to prove myself worthy of whatever cause I decide to take up, as long as I am well-informed--not gullible or tossed like a wave--and sincere, then I am not going to quit the cause.
These are bad people. They want every last one of us dead. They don't care how long it takes. Do we? Do we have the stomach for the fight? Do we have a backbone to out-wait them? I wonder. But even if the national/international will deteriorates, mine will not. I have served this country for eight years, and by @$#$%#, I'm gonna keep fighting even if I leave the service completely. I have great hopes for my kids. My daughter's behavior is unacceptable (not that I believe she's evil, but that she's human and I must be her mother--the adult). It's up to me to outlast her so that she becomes the woman and citizen she and others who come in contact with her deserve. Same with the bad guys...it's up to us to outlast them so that this world is some semblance of safer for ourselves and future generations.
And there will always be bad guys...it's human nature, greed, power, evil. So if you don't have the stamina to stick it out now, then you ought to not just give up, you ought to find yourself an isolated island to go live on, because only there will you find a version of reality acceptable to you.
Taking down the flags, indeed. I, for one, am not suicidal. And the world is not all about me and what I want, either.

This will NOT be the "last war" for Israel.
The next time, Israel goes nuclear. It WILL be the last war for Iran and Syria.

Human beings are responsible for their actions and God is ultimately in control. What He wants to happen will happen.
How does one reconcile that? That's an issue for theology. However, I do want to mention that the Old Testament is full of examples where Israel or Judea was led by a weak king and paid the price for it. We are not called by God to inaction (1st and 2nd Thess. deals with that issue), but to act even if the act is sitting down and praying on behalf of Israel (and yes even for our enemies as the West rightfully struggles to destroy them), writing a letter to the editor, to the President of the United States or giving encouragement on your blog when things seem bleak, to serving in the Armed Forces where one could ultimately give life or limb in battle.
Thomas Paine famously wrote, "THESE are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country; but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly: it is dearness only that gives every thing its value. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed if so celestial an article as FREEDOM should not be highly rated."
December 23, 1776
His whole letter, written when things were bleak for the American revolution as the rag-tag Army was in Valley Forge, can be read on:

Take courage! We have hope in our God, whom is in control, and a choice to take action against the dark forces arrayed against us.

Within a generation, a worldwide demographic crisis of staggering proportions will have engulfed not the West alone but all the developed world. "Youth culture", no-win bureaucratic State socialists, the multi-culti/moral equivalence crowd so wedded to PCBS, will face what they most dread: No work, no eat; no quarter given; no home-and-family, no claim on anyone's respect or sustenance.
Today's Muslim reptiles lie in wait to coil and strike, but they have nothing, offer nothing, betray and murder even those whose sneaking admiration fosters their advance. Crush them, with their barbaric delusions and vile, sadistic Mullahs-- once Hitler committed suicide, once the Politburo in self-defense offed Stalin as Pol Pot's innermost accomplices finally disposed of him, their brutal, infantile-regressive constructs perished with them. Saddam Hussein is but more recent... may Assad and Iran's abominable dupe soon follow.
Meantime, yes-- our national Administration might well have acted better. But compared to Al Gore, feckless and grandios; Comrade Kerry, whose phony medals, seditious libels, and statue in Hanoi insult us to this day; Hillary of lesbo-femmer fame, or Ned Lamont, heir to Stalin's American paymaster-- no contest. Vector Bush II's obsolescent Texas fighter-bombers directly up each one's inviting orifices.
In 2009, in 2017 and 2025, we will no doubt berate other politicians for not combining Washington and Lincoln. Partisanship aside, let's plump at least for honesty and good intentions. Culturally, economically, militarily and socially, today's ranting Leftist demogogues have neither. But by 2030, in Rousseau-istic climax, their world will have come crashing down. Can't wait.

The best response to anyone tht tries to inhibit the full use of the emotional function is a good "F*** you". Emotional intensity clears the brain and optimizes the thinking. Always trust intuition.
The only world that matters is "about you and what you want." There is no point sacrificing oneself for liars, murderers, deceitful betrayers and the hateful insane, and I'm talking about Westerners here.
The unfolding of contemporary history is merely the catalogue of self-destruction and insanity. I have somewhere to escape to, where i never have to come back, where there are no Muslims, where they don't speak English and where I never read or hear the English news. The world WILL be about me and what I want and I will make it that way.
Western civilization is damned. If the majority were sane, they would change it, but they are not and they won't. For the few that wake up , I advise you to escape and make your final years pleasant while you can. The first law of self-protection is not to be involved with self destructive people or populations. They created their own Hell, let them burn in it.
