Hitchens: “He says the Messiah is about to come back. Who's looking for a war here?”
Maher: “So does George Bush, by the way [audience applause]. That's not facetious [audience applause continues].”
Hitchens: “That's not facetious. Your audience, which will clap at apparently anything, is frivolous. [oohs and groans from audience, Hitchens gives them the finger] Fuck you, fuck you. [groans continue]”

This makes me laugh, the Iranian president said he wanted to wipe Israel off the map ? He's only the 100th boaster to say that. I was in Iran in 1979, just during the Ayatollah revolution, it was exactly the same. I can tell you, Iranian bus drivers were carrying Khomeiney sign and Shah sign. When they saw mass demonstration, they were waiting a little and, depending on who was demonstrating, they would bring out shah or khomeiny sign.
Nihil novi sub sole. In the 80's, the big satan was the USSR, every Reagan supporters were pissing in their pants, waiting for the big bomb. What a good idea it was, at the time, to bring money and weapons to Ben Laden talebs against the Evil USSR, right ?
Nowadays, this is the terrorists (they're not "Freedom fighters anymore" ?), tomorrow, it will something else, and people will never, never understand.
I'm glad the audience showed how ridiculous Hitchens is. There is hope.
