Perhaps not, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't grab our attention when we hear about some star getting married or breaking up.

Firstly, lots of people have fantasies about getting along with certain celebrities. Therefore they follow the lives of these people as closely as possible to find out more about them and to feel more attached to them. Imagine their dismay when they here that this star is getting wed and will not be on the market. This indicates that the very slim possibility of them getting together is no longer there.

However, this isn't the end of the line. A star getting married doesn't mean that we are not fascinated with their lives. We continue to need to follow all the gossip to see if there is a chance they'd actually break with their partner so we can return to the illusion that we'd actually have a chance with them should we ever manage to meet them.

One more reason why people have an interest in celebs marrying and breaking up is because following their antics makes them seem a touch more real. They are doing things just like normal people do, though maybe in a splashier way. They look for love and family just like we do, and their success in their careers does not stop them from failing at it just as regularly ( or perhaps even more frequently ) than the average joe does.

Stars seem to cock up their lives an awful lot, which makes us feel happier about our own issues and mistakes. Even though they might be famous and have lots of money, they continue to have their Problems. Although this might not make us the best folks, it's not actually all that dangerous.
