Out of the way

A few things I have done that are milestones of some kind or other. Going to Russia, getting further North than I have before, and various other things...

I went further North than I have ever been before. My previous mark was Tampere, in Finland (or maybe Lillehammer in Norway - I don't know which is further north). I went to Trondheim, which is definitely my new mark.

I missed out going further. Some things in life just seem to mean wanting too much at once, and you have to choose.

I went to Russia, so I have now visited 19% of the countries in the world - 44. Compared to my age (the great test) that means I am well above 1. And hopefully I will get to add India soon. So although I have not spent much time in central america or Africa, the map is starting to get filled in...

I made a widget in Russian (but it is not that exciting). I worked on a nice new SVG clock but haven't updated that widget either. And various other stuff has happened...

I lost my cloak - forgot it on a plane after spending too much of a week in planes, and SAS managed not to find it. Funny really, it is actually very big and bulky - about the maximum size for hand luggage. It's a shame - I have travelled with it for a couple of years and it is often important. It also has sentimental value. But such is life.

I managed to travel something like 110 hours in a week (which normally has 168 hours in it altogether). Kiddies at home, don't try that. Don't anybody try it. It's really not much fun.

I spoke at two conferences in the same day, and I gave both presentations from a mobile phone. (I guess I have to improve my mobile slides stylesheet if I am going to keep doing that).

I am sure there is more I forgot. Aeroplanes are not good for the brain, after a while.

Heh. I envy the map but not the mega-travel week! Condolences on the cloak, btw. I know how you can miss something like that!

Is Troindheim where one can see the Northern Lights?

Push yourself to the next limit.... Next Vacation try running 7 marathons on 7 continents in a week?

Good effort!
