Travelling grumbles

, , ,

On my way home, slooowwwlllyyyy. Sometimes in a long trip, I get down.

I am stuck in Lisbon. Having spent two weeks on the road (and 3 days in the last four weeks at home, my flight is delayed by an extra couple of hours). That might explain my negative view of the universe today.

Or it might be that in order to pass the time, I am watching F C Porto being awarded a football game 2-1, despite playing the most unpleasantly dirty football I have seen in ages. And despite the fact that both goals were scored by players who were really amazingly clearly offside. (As I write, in the 88th minute, they just scored a 3rd goal, the first one with any reasonable pretension to legitimacy).

Or it might be that the Airport Wifi Service I paid 10€ to use doesn't actually work. Network service rates are generally outrageous, given the cost to the provider (although SMS rates are, relatively speaking, still more outrageous). But when the service doesn't even *work*, and when they say "sorry, we can't actually email a receipt at this time", it goes from being pathetic to being worth ringing up and canceling the credit card payment since the service contracted was not delivered.

Maybe it's just travelling for the last 17 hours, or being on the road for a couple of pretty hard weeks. Whatever. I am looking forward to being at home and sleeping properly.
