An extra country...

, ,

In the last episode I was hoping to get on a plane to Alamty. It didn't work out quite like that, but it is OK...

I'm in Turkey - a surprise visit, because I had to stop here to wait for my visa authorisation before they would let me check in to Almaty. 20USD for a visa that would let me stay 90 days, but I ddin't even stay 90 minutes. I did take a coule of photos though, and planted my bare feet on real dirt in Turkey. Which, along with the visa stamps, means I really have been here. however briefly.

So despite the panic, the fact that I had to go to a new country, and the stress when my first flight was delayed by an unknown amount, it seems that tomorrow morning I will indeed be in Almaty...

(And many thanks to Yelena, and Zarina at Bell travel. You're both stars, and thanks to you, Turkish Airlines and flying too much I now have a printed version of the document I need for them to let me into Kazakhstan)

Visas and nerves...Not like groundhog day..

It is good to know that thins are going well (although not in the way you expected.)
