In an make an effort to be fair, and not make wisdom, I tried for a second time to contact somebody at Ford who may well clear this matter up. Not losing gross sales to its competition? After all, Ford trucks have been the king of the hill for a long time.

I found it interesting that in 2004, 2005 and 2006 the greatest tow rating for an F-150 was 9, 900 pounds. In August of 2006 Ford announced the 2007 F-150 was competent at towing 10, 500, and in January 2007 it was increased to 11, 000 pounds. The only real difference between these trucks, to justify this increase, is a fully encased frame??

Vehicles go through rigorous testing to ascertain tow ratings. There are many aspects involved like engine size, transmission, wheelbase, axle ratio, brakes, cooling systems, tow packages plus more.
