heres some of what you see in the demo

its 3 levels of Gorgeous art and clicking awesomeness!! :yikes:

The help and hints system is a new addition since the previous Samorost games by the same team.

The hint system just gives you simple single task hint diagrams..like the screen capture below

while the help system is a whole other ball game!
You have a log book that is locked and can only be opened by playing a mini side scrolling shooter game! :D

the help itself is a set of scribbles that visually spell out what you have to do

if you've been living under a rock and havnt seen it before, heres the old trailer for the game that launches later this year

I'd been hearing a lot about these Carbon Footprint measurement tools on the net.

New Pup in the house

He's about a month old, and just joined the family yesterday.

wanted to name him Shock.. but looks like the vote is in and its going to be Ginger.. which is cool also..
anyway old Zorro doesn't seem to have a problem with him, so its all good.

Howl's Moving Castle ハウルの動く城 Hauru no Ugoku Shiro

One of the best Anime films I've seen in a while. Saw it today.. albeit with more than a couple of breaks..where i had to go take care of our new pup :D .

Its got one of the most original story and characters i've seen in recent years. all i know about the books is that they exist .. and are at least 3 of em.. maybe I'll read them some day (click here for the detailed wikipedia entry on the books)

Howl's Moving Castle starts with the little hat maker's shop.. where this girl called Sophie makes hats all day... later through a series of bizarre events she ends up getting cursed by a witch and turned into an old lady.. and the only way she can get the curse removed is by by going out and tracking down the infamous wizard named Howl who travels in a magical/mechanical/steampunk castle that well...

walks across the countryside on stilt like legs.. :D
..
don't believe me, see the clip below

Batman Arkham Asylum... I'm playing it now!

, ,

Just finished the Scarecrow nightmare level this morning. It was FABULOUS!!!! but don' take my word for it, watch this footage-
(CAUTION: It may be a bit too morbid for readers of certain ages)

The sudden change from the "over the shoulder" 3rd person view to the "platformer" view was refreshing.. i don't care what others say, it was the most fun i've had in this game since the first time i made Batman leap off a ledge and perform a dive kick

Unfortunately, now i'm temporarily stuck in the fight with Bane.. granted i've only attempted it twice so far.. just had to take a break and blog it.. will get back to it in a bit.
UPDATE: didnt take long to beat him.. you just have to whack him with batarangs and dodge him when he comes at you.. whenever he hits his head and gets dizzy, you have to jump in and start hitting him. It triggers a animated sequence of Batman ripping out one of the venom tubes on his back.. you have to do this thrice.. and he goes down.

To get an idea of how formidable the guy is , take a look at the opening cinematic to this fight-

The rest of the game thus far has been stellar! i give it a solid 9/10

I can't help still wondering if theres going to be any overt connection to the graphic novel of the same name(Written by Grant Morrison; Art and cover by Dave McKean)..

i read it a couple of years back and its been one of my favourites.
