Trying something new...

Well, after being a long time patriot over at livejournal.com...(old blog)I figured I could get more out of the opera community.
Lets see. Basically a lot of things have come down and falling into my lap in the last few days.
Summer vacation ends tomorrow, however our teachers are going on strike this Friday...so we'll have two days of classes and then a strike..wonderful. This means every school related thing gets pushed aside until the whole ordeal gets resolved. However, because of Pennsylvania state law, the teachers are only allowed to strike for so many days, which is good because both the school board and the teachers are asking for "impossible" things from both sides and can't find middle ground.
I've been on our teachers website, its loaded with their propaganda...and how their thinking only about the students...while their Union tells them not to help our senior class (my class) with things like college letters of recommendations...its going to be an interesting first quarter. Also I'm rather bummed because a strike would affect the freshman election I planned back in June, which would be delayed and I'd have to go through the same process all over again.
Anyways, I had a huge talk with my grandfather today primarily about college and finances. Its fun to think about, but at the same time its scary.
Yeah.
I'm trying to learn some CSS. How ever its been a while since I've done anything like typing out all of my own HTML, so I'm a little rusty in the code process because of programs like dream weaver and iWeb and all of those other website building programs. I love the results though from CSS generated websites, and I like how similar it is to HTML but still so different, it makes things nice to pick up.
However, because I'm still a "noob" at it, I found a some sites with the help of my buddy who offered to teach it to me...I'd just rather figure it out on my own and ask questions when I need them...
CSS cheat sheet
Thats all I've got for now. I should probably go to sleep...
