Well, the first two days of school have gone well.
Tuesday: Got to sleep at about 2:30-3:00 AM, woke up at 6:40 to go to the school and deliver four speeches, one to each class. The first speech was to the freshman class. The primary focus of all four speeches was getting involved in school activities, in particular for the freshman to get involved in student government. At this point their class still doesn't have any elected officials. So I delivered the information and I can only hope someone in that class is interested. The second speech was to the sophomore class, the main focus again was on getting involved in school and giving back to the community. Then I had about 4 hours free. The rest of my class drifted in around 11:30 for a pizza party. I got to spend sometime with my friends before our class filtered into the auditorium for our speeches. The presentation was again delivered by the principal, vice principal, and the athletic director. My speech was rather laconic, mainly because we're seniors and we've heard it all before. Followed by a speech to the junior class, which again was brief.
After school several of us went to Chilis, for some reason we seem to start school, end midterms/finals and school with a trip to chilis asides from our regular visits to chilis during the weekends. Tim, Cammie, Kate, Shannon, James, Tommy and myself all ended up at Chilis. Everyone else had Cross Country after school, despite that rain. James came over after that and we worked on two movies...both are so close to being finished, they just needs a few final touches. We had some dinner, and then spent two hours playing halo on xboxlive and talking about life, and college and parents and how they treat their kids. It was a real good reminder why he's probably my best friend.
James peaced and I spent the next 4 hours writing/retyping freshman election petitions, office duties/ responsibilities and getting that prepared.
I finally got to sleep around 1 AM. My alarm didn't go off this morning, so my mom woke me up and was like, you've got to get to school...
First period I had free and Shannon, Greg and myself went to starbucks. I got chai tea...except I really don't like their chai.
Most of the day went without a hitch. Genetics is going to be a great class, I can tell. Also, my last period class, AP Gov., is going to be amazing as well.
Well, I've got some college things to sort through/some SAT preparation to get done, and also some student government duties to pull together and complete. Followed by a good nights sleep...I hope.
