Dangerous job in Africa

Being a professional soccer player is a kind of dream job for most young and telanted African. They are highly paid by many of the top European Clubs.
But it can be a very dangerous job especially after a shooting attack on the bus carrying Togo's national soccer team in Angola. The bus was ambushed in Cabinda by suspected separatists, who sprayed machine gun bullets into the vehicle, killing the Angolan driver on the spot, wounding nine others, marking one of the worst tragedies in African sports history!

Forever love, Anita

Anita Mui was one of my favourite actress and singer from Hong Kong, She died of cervical cancer in January 2004

She made her will before her dealth which left her elderly mother allowance of 70,000 HKD monthly during her life time. Her mother fought a court battle to gain control of her daugther's entire fortune but lost the legal battle on Monday June 16, 2008.

Don't you agree that one should be able to live comfortably with an allowance of about US$9,000.00 a month?

$20 for a bun, for a good cause

At BreadTalk -- a popular pastry shop here displayed a huge poster, pledging for donation in aid of China Earth quake victims.
They are selling buns in a shape of the Panda for $2 each.(Of course, you could add any other amount if you wish to do so!) All proceeds will go into China Earthquake Appeal Fund.

I picked 2 of the 'peace pandas' and put $40 into the donation box. They look cute, and taste very nice too! Yummy! yummy!

Where are the taxis last night?

Before the taxi companies in Singapore announced the taxi fare hike in Mid-Decemeber, it was almost impossible to get a taxi about 30-40 minutes before midnight!

There are 23,900 taxis out there but where had they been?

They were hiding and waiting for the clock to strike 12:00. The road after midnight would then be occupied with all the taxis. The taxi drivers can earn an extra 50% surcharge when they pick up pessengers after midnight.

In mid December, the taxi fare had been adjusted with the increase on the flag down rate, city surcharge, peak hour surcharge along with other fare increases. Getting a taxi is more of a breeze nowadys. If you just stand along the road anytime even just before midnight, you will probably get a taxi stop right infront of you. Gone are the days where long queues of passengers at the taxi stands have fo wait patiently for the taxi. The waiting taxis there had now been outnumbering the passengers.

Why hide your face ?

The picture was captured at a petrol station in Trenggenu state of Malaysia! knight

Victim of Anorexia

Amy did not come to work one day and we knew that she was sick. She did not turn up the next day then we realised that she was admitted to the hospital. She was treated for Anorexia, the eating disorder illness that took the live away from Karen Carpenter.

The singer's death in 1983 spurred the public interest in Anorexia since then. More clinics specialising in eating disorder were established, and many people began to launch voluntary support groups for victims of eating disorders.

Amy had been treated in the hospital for 3 weeks. She will return to work next week, and she had put on 12kg of weight after the treatment.

Good news is that Anorexia can be cured! Many people who love Karen Carpenter would wish that she could win the battle against Anorexia and live till today.
