The new maid.

Me. Father.
***
"Karen."
"What?"
"There's a new maid coming. You have to be good. (He means that I have to be on my best behavior) And if she sees that we are good, everything will be good."
"I'll do my best."
"Ok."
"Ok, but I'm not the one who's on probation because she's the one who's applying."
"Okie."
When she came, everything went well. I have a talent in making any person feel at ease in a click of a finger and make him/her know who I am without needing to speak a word. And now she's enjoying it; the comfort.
3 days later..
I kept my 220pesos in my bag downstairs. I zipped my bag close. I want to test if it will remain there, untouched. She seems good, friendly and educated enough for a maid. I told my father that she has a good breed. I was beginning to think that I can trust her.
Day after, when I opened my bag, there was only 120pesos left. I raged. I was mad. I asked, she lied. She witnessed my anger, and that gave her the clue that I will find out soon anyway. I don't want to lose my money though, (hehe) I endured one day of not going out because I was thrifting money for my dog's grooming.
I went upstairs, 2nd floor. I shut my door's room. She went upstairs too, fast and quiet. The maids' room is on the 3rd floor. But I heard her footsteps.
"Karen, here's your money. I found it beside the sofa. Maybe you slipped it. Maybe you just didn't notice.." She said, without looking at me. She was on the stairs to show me that she came from downstairs.
Ha, nice excuse. As much as I want to believe that, no, you cannot fool me. I was careful. I searched every place and you did not come from downstairs. You came upstairs to get the money you tried to steal, right? I grabbed my money and shut the door.
Well anyway, you made a better choice.
You saved both of us less trouble.
And you gave me a good warning that I have to keep an eye on you, Mariel.
Haha, honestly, all I need to do is to be careful with my beloved possessions. We need a maid, and you are not at all different from most maids I know.
Not all that seems good in your eyes, are trustworthy.
