China Jon's Syncretic Journal

An American in China

To a Lady

,

I was walking up this rocky path, along the mountain's side.
Then there was lightening, and thunder, and it began to rain.
It was a cold rain and I looked for a place to hide.
The wind got colder and the rain came with stinging pain.

I saw you sitting, quietly murmuring prayers of hope,
so honest, so kind, so open hearted.
That moment lingered and became forever,
and I felt my heart had found its place.
Your face turned up and the clouds departed.
Rainbows kissed your lips, and warm winds caressed my face.

The CuspA Little Un-Grumpier Than Before!

Hi Squeakey Cat
Thanks for your comment.
Sometimes a moody idea or picture comes to me and I try to capture it in a poem.
It would seem easier if the poem came to me directly!

sometimes poems do not come to me without picture either. sometimes i feel that the pictures make them easier to write

I guess that makes us visual learners!

with me, its not all pictures though. there are times that a poem just pops up, and if i don't write it down, i forget it. but yes, a lot of my poetry is written about pictures.

I did read this on my blog too!!

And it really moved me..

I did reply to it though!

Sigh!

Its the beauty of word that often has me enthralled.
