China Jon's Syncretic Journal

An American in China

The Terracotta Chapel

Play me!

I was carried by four tall men,
each with a full ponytail and muscular body, full serious lips.
Their long rough robes brushed softly along the sandy shallow steps.

I knew each one from a time long ago,
but I could not remember when, not their names.
I remembered the long rides upon the green plains.

I could only see these men and the space above them.
They slowly walked under a dome, faint,
far above in the darkness.

I strained to hear the words echoing around and through the darkness.
The foreign words or the echoes made comprehension impossible.
I let out a sigh and watched the flickering candles.

The candles dimmed and I could see stars through the arches of the dome.
The silver stars fell like snow upon my eyes.
So many stars. Carrying me away. So far away.

I hear the music echoing, echoing up through the cold arches.
Lifting me up. Carrying me home. So far away.

Its sadly beautiful.. the beauty in sorrow.. the silent elegance...

But it makes me wish, I could somehow cheer you up again :frown:

hi. You are. You do. You will.

Don't worry. It is a common problem in this world.

;-P

There were things he wanted to put in words,
But he found he had no voice to speak them out loud

He had so many pictures in his mind
But he lacked the colours to print them out...

He closed his eyes and in his minds eye
Said it all upon a sigh..

The sigh drifted upon a fluffy cloud
In a friends heart again it was found.

When without words or anything said and done
The friend understood that what was unspoken

Wished that your pain would really go away
And then she found she had no words to say...

So she did what he had done not so long ago
Wished upon a sigh and let it go..

Knowing in her silly mind,
That her friend, the wish would find!

Words, like stars flew across the night.
Sparks and wishes from afar,
and a friend's love made things right.

Like ballarenas turning in the light,
dancing rainbows twist and turn,
their colors forming a wondrous sight.

Time and space should keep them distant.
But distant drums beat out love's need,
and hearts are opened and warmly insistent.

Words are molded, polished and traded
Grateful hearts cross through poems,
and warming love lights are no longer faded.

;-D Thanks for you, and your kind wishes!

.. the pleasure is all mine Jon..hope you keep finding more and more reasons to keep smiling and keep churning out such wonderful poetry!!

hitesha,

I said that I go to a place alone, but that is only half right. I know that at the other end of my keyboard sits a person I never met, may never meet, who shares the same stars, the same dreams, the same hopes.

And sometimes that person will feel it, and write back. Just one, just two or three. Who knows...

And that makes all the difference.

Hitesha

Thanks for your lovely poem. You are so kind. I like your style, and sentiment. I know how busy you are, and feel lucky that you are watching my blog, and hoping for more of my writing.
Thanks so much.

 Jon.. I like coming here...

Its a place where I leave inhibitions behind and voice my thoughts freely.

I find my expressions reflecting through your words.

I feel like I am staring in a mirror, which does not lie.

And that is a very refreshing experience.

No matter how busy one gets, he always manages to find time for himself... Thats why I come here..

So please do not thank me..

Some people think that 'soul mates' are like 'true love' or part of matching opposites. Some of this I agree with, but I think the truth lies in the area of soul mates being fragments of a larger entity that can spread itself through time and space. When separate pieces of this entity meet each other it just seems right and a sense of peace and love is apparent. It is just a 50% chance if the other fragment happens to be the opposite sex when the parts meet...

;-D Now you know how crazy I am.

Crazy.. and imaginative!

I like the thought!! I really do! Its something I have been trying to piece together, without success!!

Wonderful poetry throughout this whole blog and comments!

Soul mates --people who have a deeply personal relationship.

Neat images! Last time I looked, there were none.

Jon 8. August 2007, 01:52

Can you hear the music? I purposely made it incomprehensible, but maybe it is not interesting. I tried to match the music to the mood I wanted.

:-/

Eliane a/k/a Elly 8. August 2007, 02:31

Don't hear the music.

Oh, well...

Jon 9. August 2007, 15:14
