An American in China

Hearts Touching

,

I didn't know I was missing you.
Like something I had never tasted,
Your touch lit something hot and true,
a burning that's never wasted.

The light changed to the red of wine,
and your scent filled the air.
I do believe that you are mine:
Such warm affection we now share.

I sent to you a little note,
telling of my missing you.
It was nothing serious that I wrote,
but it was romanic and warmly true.

I am full of affection and memories now,
But they're hiding in the wind and rain.
Take your umbrella if you know how
to shield me from the tears and pain.

Let your candles burn for me,
protect us from the cold.
Sail out o'er passion's wind and waves
before our love grows old.

We can't help bathing in love's pools:
In the dream, it seems so warm and true.
Love tells us to be fools,
and I am waiting to bathe with you.

Your verse tells me of your passion.
Your lines give away your affection.
I cannot help but show my admiration
For your beautifully rhymed creation.
