An American in China

Don't be Afraid

I came upon a great quote today, and thought I would share it. I have been too busy lately, and have not been to my blog, so I hope someone reads this!

The fishermen know that the sea is dangerous and the storm terrible,
but they have never found these dangers sufficient reason for
remaining ashore.
-- Vincent Van Gogh

What do you think of it?

Now I know VVG was a nutcase! This quote doesn't make sense as if the fishermen stay ashore, than they are no longer fishermen!

Good one!

Say, how do you keep certain posts up top always?

I think that everybody knows what is dangerous but when we want something, we go stright ahead on it!

Momable, when you make a new post, you have the option (upon the tags) where you can choose if it is a stickypost or not, you have just to mark it smile

Bea.

I think this quote is about why we stay alive.

I mean - life is lethal. But still we want to live.

Thanks, Bea!

I love VGs Sunflower paintings.

Thanks for your comments.

Momable, do you collect pictures and art? What else do you collect?

Eliane a/k/a Ellymomable Sunday, September 17, 2006 3:50:52 AM

Seems like the only thing I collect lately are aches and pains!!

Can't really afford great pictures and art, although I have a few animal paintings that I like.

Actually, I do seem to collect a rock or pebble from everywhere I hike or camp and then put said little item in with my landscaping...

Well, I recommend that you stop collecting the larger aches and pains! I used to collect 'special' stones from the beaches I visited. Agate Beach at Patrick's Point was a favorite place for getting 'stones.'

WE are fellow free spirits, it seems!! How nice.
