A page where users can upload and find UserJS files?

Will Opera ever make a page where users can upload and find UserJS files?

Good idea. This has been discussed quite a bit and we do plan to do more in the near future. As an example the new My Opera will better promote the use of UserJS. We also plan to look into how we can in general make UserJS easier to use for new users. This is something I believe is very important.

About the upcoming talk with JonWill Opera desktop version get a new logo soon?

I know it's too late to add new questions, but in direct response to that:

Is there a roadmap for "the new My Opera"?
Will it be released (the roadmap)?
Is it a 26 stage process starting with apricots?

Seems like good news, and a welcome change from Opera's previous complete silence on the subject.

Now, what's the timeline here? :D

lucideer: We will look into followups, but there is a time issue :)

I like this response. It will be good to be able to get UserJS in a easier format then message boards.
I hope it's something sooner then later.

UserJS/CSS is great thing, but there is a need for some kind of JS/CSS manager in the browser.

Charles 28. April 2009, 21:41

Yeah, a User Script Manager interface, please

Just make UserJS as skins work now, that's it! (:

D1sasterp1ece 29. April 2009, 11:58

@Aux, I was going to suggest that even before reading your post - that would be great for novice users.
+1, of course :D

userjs, indeed a powerful feature which is much too less propagated.

And by the way, guys at Opera Software, please change security context for UserJS - it is very limiting to have XMLHTTPRequest bint to current domain.

I know it is still very limited, but are you aware that there are various workarounds? Script data, for example, from other domains can be read by UserJS and execution prevented.

Aux 4. May 2009, 10:02

lucideer, script data is no XMLHTTPRequest (:
