It's going to be pretty hard to reinvent what Al Gore originally invented!

B16T1T5 11. June 2009, 15:49

Congrats and successfully

jerobarraco 11. June 2009, 15:51

harish.l 11. June 2009, 16:25

hmmmm! is an opera built portable version (with support for all platforms) on the horizon?
ah, the date is 16th gotta wait to see.

Filip007 11. June 2009, 16:37

I have just install Opera 10 on my Voyager 8GB USB key, what's the point it's not that fast.

LorenzoCelsi 11. June 2009, 16:48

Well, isn't "we will re-invent the Web" aiming a little too high?

intelimac20inch 11. June 2009, 16:50

 :coffee:  Can't wait.

serious 11. June 2009, 17:10

may I say, the text is broken here on my ubuntu 9.04? It wraps over the bottom of the image.

LorenzoCelsi 11. June 2009, 17:21

eheh, Ubuntu is not compatible with the reinvented Web

Mistra 11. June 2009, 17:25

wow reinvent the Web? i'm waiting ... :D

tandder 11. June 2009, 17:30

:wait: :left: O que será dessa vez? // What will be this time?

drlaunch 11. June 2009, 17:56

My guess is that this product isn't available to the public yet. Sorry for being so frank but stating any of the technologies Opera have available for public testing today reinvent the web, is a bit of an overstatement.

zikzakatak 11. June 2009, 18:48

now i want this to be cloud OS by opera!!!

anyhow this is the legend

"The Web is your browser. Discover how fast and fun the Web can be."

so fast and fun...that is next opera freedom.

but all this can be opera on a stick...that is maybe fast but fun not as much.

GiraffePC 11. June 2009, 20:37

I hope that it is something radical - I'm fed up of trying 'newer, faster browsers' and dumping them.

Not interested in the Cloud - I prefer my apps. and data here.

On USB - had that, done that, OK I guess.

No, we need Something Exciting. Opera has a high standard to maintain.

MConor 11. June 2009, 20:40

I have a feeling I'll be greatly disappointed, but I have high hopes for you guys :D

thetomster 11. June 2009, 20:50

Opera Mobile 9.7 completely reinvents the Web browser on mobile phones. It provides an elegant browsing experience, while also making smartphones a new home for cross-platform applications. It marks a turning point in the ongoingevolution of the Web.

andrewsam 11. June 2009, 21:17

browser related and how the UI functions

or

something remote or cloud based

or

what i can't wait until 16th to get disappointed .. give some clues guys!!

thetomster 11. June 2009, 21:22

:sherlock:

Opera is planning on releasing a new, hmm… how should I put it, well let’s just say that Opera is about to announce something really cool on June 16th.

The company is framing this new ‘thing’ as ‘Reinventing the Web.’ I’m excited about it; it definitely has the potential to be a game changer (for some).

Opera’s hint: We start our little story with the invention of the modern day computer. Over the years, the computers grew in numbers, and the next natural step in the evolution was ...

MConor 11. June 2009, 21:30

The next step was windows, wasn't it?

thetomster 11. June 2009, 21:34

   windows wasn't a step ... it was a TRY

hogther 11. June 2009, 21:34

Maybe will the Opera's answer to Google Gears?

MConor 11. June 2009, 21:37

 Ok, so maybe not. But if Opera had an OS, it would greatly increase the publicity of it.

thetomster 11. June 2009, 21:39

:D if opera had an OS we would be dancing on the moon :D

MConor 11. June 2009, 21:45

Hell Yeaah :D An OS that worked for a change.

thetomster 11. June 2009, 21:47

:D and the super bowl would be broad casted exclusively from mars city :D

MConor 11. June 2009, 21:49

andrewsam 11. June 2009, 21:50

maybe it's something like google wave

drlaunch 11. June 2009, 22:00

After looking at some clues left by Opera Software around the web, I believe it might be cloud computing related.
Perhaps a way to integrate web services into Opera, perhaps file management, or an interface for various web services.

MConor 11. June 2009, 22:03

an interface for various web services.

+1

Jurgi 11. June 2009, 22:04
