That's probably very confusing for people who just want to know what they're in store for first...
It should at least link to this:

Well, my point was people who don't know Opera or use a different browser will be more inclined to not even bother downloading if they don't know what to expect.
The frontpage also only emphasizes Turbo so for someone who doesn't need such a feature, this could also be a no-download.
It also just feels kind of "suspicious" if you're asked to download something that you know little or nothing about.

EspenAO: well, my point was more that the frontpage should change, not just the link on this page

the good thing is: people want to have/get opera
the bad thing is, that it's never good to be unable to serve the power needed
let's go for a download-record!

Google Chrome and Firefox are doing it, and Apple and Microsoft bundle it with their OS.
So you are the only big browser maker that doesnt..
But i hope that changes soon

Scorpiuz is right though, to really get take some of that browser market share bundling with OS distributions and even including software on popular computer magazines CD's would be a great way to get out there. :-) keep up the good work though..

It happens when I try to connect to a locally hosted website with an address like:
its-my-computer.local/~user/sitename/
I think Opera can't handle the ".local" bit - which makes it no good for web development or testing.

It is not a problem with the browser, but with firewall applications that block browsers without informing the user.
