Opera is the best Browser you have never heard of
By Espen André Øverdahl. Friday, 30. October 2009, 13:39:01
At least according to Associated Content who writes:
Introducing Opera, a super fast lightweight web browser. Opera is an incredible web browser. It has become my favorite for surfing the web. I cannot believe how few people actually know it exists. Especially when so many people surf the web on it every day.Good to hear that Opera's getting more and more acknowledged. ![]()

Plus you won't find in any other browsers as many out of the box features as in Opera.

I agree Opera installation file size is relatively small while the variety of its functionalities is awesome. And it's a browser which perfectly meets my requirements. However, I disagreed with the label 'lightweight' thinking about Opera size in memory when it's running. All this great stuff (Mail, IRC client, Notes, Link, Unite etc.) need RAM of course and it makes Opera an Integrated Web Experience Environment rather than a Lightweight Web Browser. This is what I thought about above.
PS What is a purpose of all those comments with a single emoticon as the only content? Each post on any of the Opera blog is succeeded with this spam (yes, for me it's just spam as it doesn't bring any valuable content). As a result it's hard to follow a discussion in comments because it's filled with those emots. I know it's nice to leave sth after reading so the blog authors know how people feel about the information but a single emoticon looks rather infantile. IMHO.

Just because you disagree with it does not mean it's wrong or somehow I will not put an emoticon because YOU think it's infantile.
I must have not read "How and when to use emoticons". How's that for content.

Wrong. Those additional features don't use any noticeable amount of memory unless you actually USE them. So yes, Opera IS a LIGHTWEIGT WEB BROWSER by default.

* integrated e-mail client (my favorite feature
* integrated "cloud computting" via Opera Link
* integrated bittorrent support
* Awesome look and feel
things I hate about opera
* why the f***ing hotkeys should be diferent of the rest of the world???
* why the Opera Link don't store the e-mail contact list too???
so... opera is getting there, but still a long way to go through...

In my country, less than a thousand people knows about the existence of OPERA and only a hundred use OPERA (this is only an estimate based on my observation during college and highschool).

Well, you can change them. To be just ordinary, or completely, massively, as much as you want - even having typed words as gestures. Which is pretty good.
