Let's see how it works out.
Note for those going to Barcelona: Please please, give us some videos of Opera Mini on iPhone.

PS: Opera should get in touch with Adobe. They also make software that won't ever make it into the AppStore.

After all that Flash disaster with the iPad which caused loads of negative headlines for Apple I can't imagine that they disapprove.
After all they have to maintain a certain reputation.

It does more than Safari

That could be a strong reason for AT&T to apply pressure on Apple about accepting Opera Mini. Last year many news headlines appeared about AT&T's hardenships to cope with all of the mobile traffic coming from iPhones and other smartphones.

Don't think so as it is not even stable on the Mac (tho they said they would work on it)
Also Flash is owned by Adobe and not Opera or Apple

For WAP support you can try Wapzilla, its available on the App Store, I heard its really nice.
For the Flash I don't think so.
I would love to see Opera for iPhone available, but personally I don't think Apple will allow that
Initial buzz is good thing to pressure Apple a bit.
Greetings from Germany!

I hope, in case Apple won't allow Opera Mini on tha app store, you'll release it through Cydia. I need Opera Mini on my iphone!

If it works on the iPhone, then it also works on the iPod touch. There are only very little Apps that don't fully run on an iPod touch but an iPhone.

Even so, great progress for Opera! I do hope this will be enough to pressure Apple. Mini probably needed to be rewritten using the iPhone SDK (given iPhone does not do Java apps). I feel that OBML, though it is an interpreted language, poses much less risk than conventional JS as executed in Safari. Reprocessing images destroys any viruses that may be hidden within them. By far, Mini should be the safest browser on any phone.

So far Maemo should be much easier than Iphone since Maemo can run either Qt and GTK and i think Opera did once a version for it. Althought not as great.
