Cool! finally

NicoHellbillyDeluxe Thursday, March 11, 2010 8:53:27 AM

Finally!

But some sites like m.yahoo.com/mail aren't working here.
I also can't find any options to setup my country, so that I get pages in my native language.

But it looks really cool so far, good job. Keep it up smile

Aleksander AasAleksander Thursday, March 11, 2010 8:56:35 AM

It's only in English for the beta smile

Remember to rate it star star star star star

NicoHellbillyDeluxe Thursday, March 11, 2010 9:04:39 AM

I gave it 4 stars, since some pages are not working good with the Beta. But once all bugs are fixed and Opera Mini 5 is out of Beta, I will give it 5 stars.

Thanks again for releasing Opera Mini 5 Beta for Android. I've been waiting for this really long.

NicoHellbillyDeluxe Thursday, March 11, 2010 9:14:25 AM

One more thing: Pinch-zooming isn't working on my Motorola Milestone. Zooming by double-tapping works fine.

The beta doesn't have multi touch support I believe. (I don't have it at all on my HTC Magic)

NicoHellbillyDeluxe Thursday, March 11, 2010 9:55:24 AM

Thank you for clarifying that.
Can't wait for the Final. Opera Mini 5 looks Rallye promising smile

Strange, Yahoo! Mail Mobile works great with Wi-Fi, but not over 3G. Any suggestions?

Blaz(ž) Pristavitalianjob44 Thursday, March 11, 2010 3:02:05 PM

3G is probably not going trough compressed servers i think that's my best guess.

Yes time is money but what about quality?

After I was able to load the site over Wi-Fi, Yahoo! Mail is now working fine on 3G or any other mobile connection... Really strange oO

What do you mean by that? Opera Mini always goes through servers. It doesn't work without them.

What about it? Again, what are you trying to say?

Blaz(ž) Pristavitalianjob44 Thursday, March 11, 2010 4:16:37 PM

OK...i miss little bit.

On that link from Engadet for Opera 5 mini they said that have some glitches.

NicoHellbillyDeluxe Thursday, March 11, 2010 5:34:49 PM

One more suggestion: Please let us be able to use Opera Mini as the default browser. Thank you!

pandinus Thursday, March 11, 2010 11:25:49 PM

One thing i miss is the exit button. Everytime i had to kill Opera with Task Manager. I know is beta. Hope for a fix.

Thanks so much! I really love this browser and the 4.2 version was soooo bad p

I understand that as Android manages the app closing automatically, you shouldn't need an exit button....

masterpfa Friday, March 12, 2010 12:17:55 PM

I am some what disappointed with this version of Opera Mini 5, probably because I have been used to using using Opera Mobile in the past. I probably need to consider the use of this app on 2G network where it's features may come into it's own.
So for me personally (I have tried and un-installed this app twice as I thought I was being to harsh initially) I will await Opera Mobile. Any news on that?

I flew into a cave, I think it was in Lascaux, France, and there were these beautiful drawings on the cave walls, drawn by our ancestors. It was a long time ago!

yes Finally, I've been waiting to be able to use Opera Mini on my Samsung Moment. Version 4.2 wouldn't work for the Moment before, but this one is much better. idea Next goal, hmmm, if only we could get Opera Mobile to work on Android smartphones... that would be excellent!

great news, keep up the good work

I was running Opera on my Android until I discovered two open tcp sockets linking to Opera servers, although the application was not in use but perhaps not garbage collected.

I've now removed Opera Mini 5 from my phone and reluctantly will not use it again.

One may have been for Opera Link the other for the page compression
