It would be good to have different resolutions for download. Not everyone uses 1.490 x 1.024 :/

How would you remove the background if you want to go back to using the original theme?

Ooops!Answered my own question, go to configure Speed Dial and take it from there-brilliant!

I suppose the 'best fit' or stretched background does not look good enough for you? Usually good speed dial always works, no matter what setting you choose

I don't use speed dial and therefore speed dial backgrounds at all, but having different resolutions is always better than 'stretching' or 'fitting' pictures

I agree Although certain picture editing tricks can make even very small pictures suitable for stretched background. I can't remember what I did on this one but this is what I used for very long time as a background on many places:

Speed dial backgrounds also work well as desktop wallpapers

Here's a very modest attempt I just did. Original taken with mobile phone and sent to MyOpera album using Opera Mini :


Then I downloaded the pic on to PC, changed it into sepia, and added some Gaussian blur:

Nice background.

How about adding it to the Speed Dial Gallery (http://my.opera.com/community/opera/speeddials/) so that it can easily be found in the future?

We've already done this and this change will be visible in the next My Opera release.

Hmm... These Speed Dial backgrounds are nothing but ordinary pictures. Community can just as well start a group for background images (if there's not any yet), where peeps can upload images, tag them, and give votes (like in any MyOpera album) Alternatively anyone can upload pictures to their own albums and use album tags like background or backgrounds to describe and search for the albums.

You could also use these http://my.opera.com/community/opera/wallpapers/ as backgrounds in speeddial

Good point Charles There you have also the same pics as at http://my.opera.com/community/opera/speeddials/

They are slightly different, tho you can also use the same backgrounds that you use on your desktop

You can message someone or add people to your friends list by clicking in their usernames and seeking for the message or add button in the user "about" or "blog" page.

Here's my favorite background photographed by Irczas This picture looks just great as stretched, and when one or two speed dials left away from the middle of bottom row. Black frames around the picture and horizon on bottom makes this very nice background for speed dials. I only wish I could remove the numbers and texts showed on unused speed dials Any ideas how to do that?

Jesus... Tamil, thank you! You can't even imagine how many times I was looking for that image without result. I saved it 2 times for safety, lol. And now again, through Google came here to find my old post and your great reply! Made it, also, Win7 & Win8 background, alone with Speed Dial. :S
