Many Opera users want the old "O menu" back without the text ("Menu") at the end. It's one of the most popular request both on Twitter and Facebook.

So if you want to remove the "Menu" text, follow these simple steps:

  1. Right-Click the O Menu.
  2. Go Customize > Appearance.
  3. On the Toolbars tab change Style to Images only.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Profit.

you missed ????????? wink

Eric Bladeeblade Tuesday, July 6, 2010 1:36:22 PM

The other options don't work, though, that's silly.

I'd also like it if I could move it to the titlebar, but it seems to be permanently attached to the Tab bar.

Pramod Ghugegeeneeyes Tuesday, July 6, 2010 1:50:34 PM

couldnt the menu button have been a bit taller so that there is no extra space below the button sad

Kalojan Todorovkalotodo Tuesday, July 6, 2010 2:06:41 PM

awsome. needed that, now i have only the beautiful O for Opera, perfect

redpok Tuesday, July 6, 2010 2:09:38 PM

Nice, and so obvious bigsmile

Now make it possible to hide the title bar too when visual tabs is set to left/right...PLEASE!

Dawid Pająksdrpl Tuesday, July 6, 2010 2:14:58 PM

Great tip. On Opera for Unix this make more space for tabs up

And yes, it would be nice if we were able to hide titlebar. Do something so Gnome users could move tabs to titlebar like it is on Windows XP with Luna.

This is the much better solution and the way I prefer it, because the button also gets smaller.

Great thanks, how do i get rid of the Bing search bar on my Speed dial as none of the old trick seem to work?

Marek Nowickifaramir2 Tuesday, July 6, 2010 5:59:34 PM

@Horlicks00: Menu/Settings/Preferences/Search engines
Select "Bing", then "Edit", next "Details..." and deselect "make as speed dial search engine".

Horlicks00 Tuesday, July 6, 2010 6:01:58 PM

@Marek Nowicki , Ahhh thank you very much!! bigsmile

Victor Isites.web.pt Tuesday, July 6, 2010 6:26:31 PM

That's the logical thing to do, I've tried that when the "menu" text first appeared, but didn't work then. Thanks for the tip, no more lng file editing!

DaringineerQuadunit404 Tuesday, July 6, 2010 7:45:53 PM

1. Right-Click the O Menu.
2. Go Customize > Appearance.
3. On the Toolbars tab change Style to Images only.
4. Click OK.
5. ????
6. Profit.
