Mobile web use explodes in Africa

The State of the Mobile Web report is out, and this time we focus on how the World Cup affected mobile browsing. It might come as no surprise that browsing in South Africa grew, but the report also looks into Nigeria, Kenya, Egypt, Ghana, Sudan, Libya, Tanzania, Ivory Coast, Namibia, Mozambique and Mauritius. In June 2010, Opera Mini had over 59.4 million users worldwide, a decrease from May 2010, but up more than 152% compared to June 2009.
