lol Yes, no waiting on Opera Mini, unless your provider sucks... cry This morning I experienced the illustrated situation just because the base station was acting slowly. The flip side of mobile browsing becoming more popular is the increasing network traffic. Hundreds of other users may try to use the same base stations at the same time, and then someone always have to wait And yet, when using Opera mini, I still get at least something out from the slow network. I don't even want to try how slow it would be with a built-in browser.

My phone isn't capable to run even Opera Mini. wink
But my brother is real fan of Mini (of cource he uses Opera Desktop too, it's my influence). He had only one problem: he couldn't install it. The solusion's found to be simple: get the correct (Symbian, in this example) version. bigsmile

What phone do you have? Opera Mini should be able to run on virtually any phone.

But not Nokia 3330, I suppose.

slackwrdave Thursday, August 19, 2010 3:30:28 PM

Opera Mini can take a busy cluttered webpage and make it viewable on my inexpensive dumbphone. Mini doubles the usability of my device for me. up

The unit's built-in browser usually just sits there frozen on heavy content.

Martin JosefssonMartin23 Thursday, August 19, 2010 4:21:52 PM

According to me you should use Opera Mini for as long as you do not run Android on your mobile. Android has SO FAR better options!

Joeljgm21 Thursday, August 19, 2010 5:31:13 PM

My phone isn't capable to run 5.x Opera Mini. Samsung SGH-E590.

selurus Friday, August 20, 2010 5:40:12 AM

@Андрій then why not try v4.2. That is still cool Opera Mini.

I use Opera Mini on a daily bases. I'm on the slowest Edge (Basically ATT's network...which is 2G, and it sucks...epically.) network, yet with Opera Mini, I manage to load full pages in a couple of seconds. smile It's handy when you're in a building where you barely get any signal.

I fear the next phone I get (Which will be a pay-as-you-go Boost Mobile [Which is on the Sprint/Nextel network.] phone.), I won't be able to run Opera Mini 5. I'll be lucky if I can run OM 4. That's good enough for me!

drunk In due time, this whole world will be drunk off of Opera Mini's capability to display full web-pages in its mark-up language....to display 'em as lovely little text and pictures for our eyes to please....

According to ME Opera mini is a great browser for Android phones. I wouldn't be without it. smile

Cutting Spoonhellspork Friday, August 20, 2010 10:14:30 PM

Mini has surprising features for a proxified browser, and is the most data-efficient phone browser. Bolt can be fast like Android, supports proxified Flash, but you almost need WiFi to use it reliably.

selurus,5.x Opera Mini isn't capable to run on My phone. With 4.2 no problem. It's the fault of developers of Opera Mini.

I've tried many applications for surfing the intertet using a mobile phone, but the best and efficient to use, only one application, that is Opera mini

I heart Opera mini

Eu uso ópera e não tenho do que reclamar! Muito pelo contrário; só tenho elogios! Acho ele ótimo e realiza muito bem o que se propõem portanto; vida longa para o ópera!

techlawsam Tuesday, August 24, 2010 1:34:45 AM

Agreed OM is an excellent browser..but with the advent with 4G in the US (and 4G in other countries) I hope Opera makes a browser or at least updates Opera Mobile to consume heavy data like skyfire...since usin OM on 4G will be backwards I would like a updated Opera Mobile for android bigsmile

RachelRachelJuleiane Tuesday, August 24, 2010 3:29:01 AM

yup. its because built in browsers loads everything which is a very bad idea. but because opera is there, we save time, money and bandwidth! cheers!smile

can anybody tell me where to find the answer about disabling popup blocker on OM5.1 Java?
I tried to upload a .csv file for contact adding on facebook's full site which uses such a dialog box but nothing is shown after uploading the big file (spent lots of data packet).
The rest, it's a great app ever.

Nia Channaniacha Tuesday, August 24, 2010 11:45:51 PM

Can you give me the answer..why i cant open fb fullsite on opera mini? Though mobile site was turn off..

Cutting Spoonhellspork Wednesday, August 25, 2010 12:01:02 AM

May be a memory issue on you phone, or a temporary problem with one region of facebook service. Or do you mean you told facebook to use full site, but you don't see the full site? You need to set facebook to use the full site, and you need to turn off mobile view in Mini.

Nia Channaniacha Wednesday, August 25, 2010 12:46:22 AM

It was before..recently i cant find the notification to set up fb in full site again...

Cutting Spoonhellspork Wednesday, August 25, 2010 1:00:08 AM

That IS strange. Just checked on my phone, and the option is no longer there. Guess Facebook's screwing with us. They made a change all by themselves.
