Emberwind, a HTML5 masterpiece

Emberwind

Ever wanted to be a lamp wielding, owl riding gnome? What if the gnome fights evil orcs and gremlins? Of course you have! Emberwind is a indie game made by Erik Möller and TimeTrap. During the summer three interns at Opera, Erik himself (who now works for Opera) and another Erik (Lindz) will work on porting the game to your browser using HTML5!

After one month of furious coding the team already have a pretty nifty demo. Now all we need are some gremlins and gameplay. Regular updates are available through Eriks blog, so be sure to check it out for the latest updates!

Want even more Emberwind? Check out the sweet launch trailer!

First thought: That's cool!
Second thought: But why?

I'm missing the times when there was dozens of new platform games every year. Simple rules, a lot of enemies to kill, a lot of items to collect smile

Because we can! It's a proof of concept to show the possibilities of HTML5.

And how can I can? Congratulations, seems funny

I has played the game (the "normal" version), and it's VERY good!

The HTML5 version is running very well, with no slowdowns (even without hardware acceleration).

Will Opera release games in the future?

nice, this shows html5 apps can be flexible and nice as flash-based.

MOVE OVER FLASH, the future is html5 and the future is now!
