Imagus

, ,

Check out Imagus, an Opera extension intended to complement image features that Deathamns feel is missing from Opera by default, or add new features that are useful.

I've tested it and I can honestly say that I'm impressed. It adds many useful new features to Opera. One thing I like is that you can simply select a text link and get a live preview of the image:

I've disabled the cursor tooltip to avoid the image URL to appear in front of the picture. You can also do this from "Preferences" » "Advanced" » "Browsing" and uncheck "Show Tooltips".

Anyway, give the extension a try if you're looking for new image features in Opera. Please let me know if you know of any other extensions out there that should be covered.

Pro tip: Play around with QWE in an image. smile

I prefer Image Preview Popup.
It even works on YouTube, so you can check out the bigger version of the thumbnail before you click the video.
It also has loads of settings, so you can customize it easily.

Imagus works on YouTube too, it's working better on facebook, and it's customizable as well. This extension have even more features than Image Preview Popup and it doesn't contain any stupid popups with spam. Imagus still need some fixes, but it's way better than Image Preview Popup. cool

Wasn't my plan to go public with it (yet), but thanks for promoting happy
By the way, you don't have to disable tooltips, I did take care of it (at least they don't popup in Windows and Linux Opera).

How do you turn that preview bullshit off? Goddamn how come all these extensions that supposedly fix that buggy horseshit image resize nonsense that Opera has crammed down our throats for the 11 update end up adding worse functionality to the fucking browser?

What do I do to just make opera act like it did back in 9.x? Fuck's sake!

You might begin with a course in anger management, I have it on good authority that extra swearing makes their eyes glaze over and ignore your post.

You could also check Tamil's blog for somewhat of a workaround. Clearly extensions like Imagus are more complete than Opera's auto resize, but at least wait for 12 to hit beta.

I don't seem, to refer us to this issue in that way. Both extensions are okay, more "Image Preview Popup" has in the preferences page, a button to simple mode that eliminates those annoying link-messages.

This prolific developer has made a fine job and he put (at full mode) a link maybe a little coercive, for downloading from his another job. I have seen extensions for other browsers with publicity or with payment version, you know.

Yes, and that's why it's just a spam. BTW, his extension is very ugly, he's using the "text-shadow" CSS property in the worse possible way. The preferences page and the icons looks terrible... I'm so glad, there is finally something useful, nice and even more powerful. smile
