Opera Mini 4.4

With our love for Android and flashy phones it's easy to forget how important J2ME is. But the fact remains that lot of Opera Mini users with feature phones such as Nokia flip flops use it to go Online. This makes J2ME one of the most important mobile operating systems out there.

Today we are happy to release an important update for these users: Opera Mini 4.4 is now available from m.opera.com.

This update provides J2ME users with the new and improved network features found in Opera Mini 6.5. We've also included several important stability and performance fixes. The most important fix is probably solving login issues with Opera Link. Samsung users should also find some updates and fixes in the user interface.

What are you waiting for? Check out m.opera.com and update to Opera Mini 4.4 today!

When will you guys release a version for Bada phones too? Such as the Wave line from Samsung? It is greatly increasing in popularity too!

That's great keep it up Opera to maintain your best position. Please i want to advice the Opera community management if it would be possible, you should try and facilitate Opera 5beta and Opera 6 to be acomodated in all java phone type. Thank you

Version 4.4 doesn't have tabs right? Only version 6 and beyond.

Junaid Ahmed ShawonShawon584 Tuesday, October 25, 2011 11:58:16 AM

Have you forgot us? Where's 6.2. Opera mini 5, 6.1 all has "out of memory problem" on Nokia. Is it really made for Nokia featured phone?

They support it since 5.

They 4.9 will be funny. Guys, we will provide for "old" phones too tabbed browsing, but first, update your phone's ram. lol

I compared it with the old one on a large page (engadget, destop version) and the 4.4 consumed 2MB less memory from 10 mega (Moto VE66) than 4.2.

@callmegus, sometimes happen. Your post is "sent" even though your browser (Opera Mini) or the forum interface still thinks its not sent (page did not refresh). Frequently happens to me on the forums, resulting in multiple posts. Had to delete the extra posts. If you "refresh" the page, you would see your comment actually went through.

Btw. J2ME is called Java ME since a few years, and it isn't an OS, it's a runtime smile

Lanzaderas Jesrel DJesrel Wednesday, October 26, 2011 12:21:14 PM

opermini is the best if your hardware is high in ram..some users are still complaning ,but ,they did'nt observe the capacity of thier hardware used..

Plz... dont forget...I cant wait for the next version for symbian.

Great job opera tm....

digitalblaq Wednesday, October 26, 2011 2:02:14 PM

This not an upgrade on anything; another stunt to brush off complaints from J2ME users. You should be upgrading OM6.1 but you busy toying around with ppl tellin 'em about 4.4

Same as 4.3, i dont see any new features, maybe in future the developers should consider adding file manager and some themes for night browsing, you know some phones cant control phone brightness the screen becomes too bright at night

Nimesh nimeshthakkar Thursday, October 27, 2011 8:33:20 PM

I get 4.3 if I access through Vodafone, and 4.4 if I use Reliance
