Google+ and Google Toolbar issues resolved

Google Plus

Good news for everyone who Googles!

In the past, Google services didn't always work quite as they should have done in Opera, mostly due to that old bugbear of browser compatibility.

But Google has now performed the tweaks, fixes and possibly even rain dances necessary to make Google+ and the Google Toolbar work better in Opera. To see it for yourself, check out Opera's page in Google+. And while you're there, why not add us to your circles?

"And while you're there, why not add us to your circles?"

Certainly would have - if I was 13 years+; one day logging into Gmail asked me for my birth date just like it asks for mobile numbers many times, and I entered it and Google banned the account saying I am not 13.cry

They just removed some browser-sniffing-scripts, these features were working before when you had installed certain extensions.

I still see the normal black bar across the top on google.com and Google+ pages. Looks different from Chrome to me.

Am i missing something?

Stanleyfreerider Wednesday, January 18, 2012 10:22:15 PM

nice, but there is same problem with G+ button on various sites, I cannot insert comments when sharing

Hehehe bigsmile smile up

Michael A. Puls IIburnout426 Thursday, January 19, 2012 12:07:36 PM

Now they need to fix it so the black bar moves down the page when you scroll so you can click it to get back to the top. It works if masking as Firefox. But, then you get that damn browser warning.

They are still preventing Opera from having the new search bar. And you can't add a comment to a post from a third party page, which no one seems able to fix. sad

They need to update the version of Firefox they pretend to be. This code used to work for fixing the bar position:
#gbz,#gbg,#gbx3,#gbx4,#gbwc{position:fixed !important}
Just put that in a user CSS file and set Opera to use it on Google+

As for me I'm sorry to tell you that I have issues on Google plus using Opera. When I try to see my circles' news, on the left panel, if I want to switch from, let's say, friends to family, I have to click three times on family! but using firefox or comodo dragon, I just have to click once, so that I can see my family's news. Maybe there's more issues, but that's something that I have just noticed.
Maybe I'm too picky, but these things, that make me use a different browser to work comfortably, discourage me from keep using Opera. Issues with windows live, issues with Google, too many issues for my taste.
It's sad because I really like the browsers concept, but... I don't want to keep opening other browsers to do every little different thing.
