What's better than 9 Speed Dials? Unlimited Speed Dials. That's one of many new features released in today's update to Opera Mini and Opera Mobile.
Opera for Android and Symbian
For Android we have a product update and a new product release. Launching in its final version today, Opera Mobile 12 will bring more goodies to owners of Android and Symbian smartphones. In the goodie bag for Opera Mobile 12, you'll find:
- WebGL on Android phones, for all things 3D and web. With WebGL on mobile, it'll be even easier to make games cross platform and to distribute them.
- Ragnarök, Opera's HTML5 parser support, meaning better web apps and increased compatibility with websites. More HTML5 means more advanced web functionality.
- Support for camera use in the browser.
- More possibilities for customizing the Speed Dial of Opera Mobile, including entering as many Speed Dial entries as you like.
Get the final version of Opera Mobile 12 in the Android Market Place, or at m.opera.com.

Can you recommend any links to pages that show off these new updates? In particular the new HTML5 bits and the camera?
Thanks!

Any and all addresses I go to, it says "content blocked by the content blocker". So I can't access anything, not even the settings (opera:config) so that I could try turning the content blocker off...
So the update rendered the browser totally useless. I would have imagined that the release would have been tested on the oh-so-common SGS?
Should have waited before updating...again...

But the icon is look ugly, previews icon is better than this operamini next,Home page is not good in Nokia E63,E71(360X240) because its not fit into screen ,look small.
1."You missed brightness control."
For me as a night time surfer I want to minimize the brightness of the screen to protect my eyes. Like UCweb has a nightmode.
2."You missed Opera skins like operamini 4.2.

I use the same urlfilter as on the desktop and after upgrading to Opera M12 it started to block ALL PAGES... it worked fine in the old version.

However, one thing I want is that if you can make shortcut tabs or large icons as in Symbian version for Java too, it will be great.

Furthermore, how to experience the smart previews? Is it the same as the previous speed dial previous. In addition, the shortcut for the speed dial only works until position 9 (*9). Any speeddials located after position 9 have to be selected manually.

Other than that, my UI feels a lot snappier so good job on that. I'm not sure how to test the other news so I can't comment.

Speed Dials would be meaningful on keypad phones if all of them are assigned shortcuts. On my 240x320 screen, only 6 of them are visible compared to the previous 9. Can't their thumbnail size be reduced to fit the screen size?
While Opera Mini Next still misses the 'Desktop UA' option, opening Facebook links from 'Social Networks' option was cool but the 'Reload' feature doesn't work for me, atleast for Facebook (haven't checked Twitter).
With two big Thumbnails at the top and no option to fold/hide features like My News/ Social Networks/ Suggested Links, it is very difficult to navigate within 'HOME' and between HOME & SPEED DIAL.
Hope that Opera Mini 7 final comes with new features in addition to bug fixes.
