Feedback Time(line)

,

Facebook users have had access to the newer Timeline layout for a while, and brands had time to experiment with the layout before applying it, too. What do you think of the design and layout we're working with today? Too blue? Not enough blue? Too human? Not human enough? We value My Opera feedback more than you might think, this is a great time to help shape the brand.

Here's what we're working with right now. Let us know your thoughts. Or you can download and edit a copy and post it in the comments, too.

Have the "WEB ANYWHERE screen" show different cities around the world. On Monday show Barcelona, Tuesday show Rome, Wednesday show Istanbul, etc. headbang Have to have a sweet looking blond looking over the dudes shoulder at his hand held device. flirt And both should definitely be wearing some kinda Opera gear like: pins, T-shirts, beanies, etc. yikes Now if Opera wants to be over-the-top on this, have the 'sweet something' matched up with the city. That would be cool - same guy, seven chicks! yes

Is it just me being tired or is the Opera logo not perfectly centered in its square?

PengePenge4 Tuesday, April 10, 2012 12:48:11 AM

I wouldn't advertise Facebook fanpages, until the position: fixed scrolling bug exist.rolleyes

OH GIVE THE MAN A BLOODY MEDAL!
No, seriously, there's something wrong with Fb and Opera and you all know it.
Other than that, the design is fine.

I dont think adding more colour would make any diff. After all, this is not Barny the dinosaur.com or Fruity pebbles.com.

more red, not more comic. wink

Yeni Setiawansandalian Tuesday, April 10, 2012 11:00:26 AM

I prefer it to be reddish than bluish.

1st) big like for not having a girl/woman in the top picture... Trying to sell everything everywhere with good looking women has become much too common: I like the non-sexist approach here!

2nd) more red wink

3rd) apart from design: less one-way-communication. start communicating by reacting to comments, answering questions and so on.

What an awesome opportunity the Timeline offers to a company/product which has a long history to derivate from the competition! Use it!

Found a few typos, in 2000 and 2005 it says "trail" in places where it should probably be "trial"?

In general, I'd suggest to make it more visually captive (LOVE those screenshots!) and perhaps target the timeline content a bit wider than just Opera's own history. You could include interesting facts about the development of browsers, web standards, CSS, people, trends, companies et all — in this way you could turn the Opera Timeline into an interesting presentation of "The History of the Internet" that could potentially be interesting content to a much-much wider audience. I don't recall anyone doing it yet with FB, so there's a massive opportunity window wide open right in front of you.

I like the design, maybe a bit more red will be better. Also, look the timeline pages created by this guy, its a minor detail but I think that would make the page look even better.

I agree with more red.. Opera should be more red than blue.. and I agree with Saskatchewan´s second post with red background and white devices.. but devices on this picture need a little bit more work..
