We're happy to announce that addons.opera.com (where you get extensions and more for Opera) is. all. new.

Excited?! I was too! But it gets better: The updates aren't just visual, besides the simplified look there is also a much more robust and precise search, a more trustworthy Top Rated section, and developers have more licensing freedom. You'll also find neat iconized indicators on what an extension affects, and unlike this blog post, addons.opera.com supports 31 languages. wink

Give the new catalog a browse. We also have a poll going on Facebook.com/Opera asking users how many extensions they've got, chime in.

Now is also a great time to share a link to some extensions. Don't keep secrets, share your favorites!

Not sure I am a fan of this update but as always, time will tell. Might just take some getting used to. I certainly didn't see anything wrong or obnoxious about the old layout.

my favourite opera extension is FB Purity, it cleans up and customises Facebook, and also has a solution for disabling Facebook Timeline in your browser.

you can get fb purity here:

Sorry but i do not like it. The new layout looks far too much like Chrome's extension site and, more importantly, there is still no way to either comment on a review or report spam.

Second thing is if one's got minimum font size set to 14 (or more), the text gets cut, but I guess it's a normal thing. smile

PS. I liked more the old layout too.

Использую опера как дополнительный браузер с 2006 года, но после последней ситуации близко на моей аппаратуре ее не будет. Стоит UC web, и стояла опера 6.0 (обновил ее до 6.5, теперь реклама оперы и в UCweb лезет), удачи в разработках, главное не позорьтесь что бы не приходилось чисть всю систему из за ваших идей

I think the search could still be optimised. When I search for a keyword I would expect that the name of the addon has highest priority, but when you search for example for "focus" you get "Video Focus" and "Focus On Textbox" at the beginning, but "Focus on Videos" is behind "Key title", "Close similar tabs" and "Tweetscroll".

my priority order would be:

1. name
2. description
3. tags (?!, dont know if there are any)
4. rating

And in the list of results are still all results of the same addon, only because there are different languages available. I dont mind that all kind of languages are shown if no language filter is set, but for one addon I want to see only one language in the results:

- my language (from my browser or myopera-account) if addon is available in it
- OR the most common language in the world: english
- OR the language of the addon if my language and english is not available

I'm using four extensions and I don't wanna miss either one of them:

1. Ghostery (I think everybody knows about it so I won't comment on it)
2. Textarea resizer - just so useful if web developers thought 2 lines in a text area would be enough and you have to type an excessive comment
3. CursorAdjust - I will never get used to seeing that text-beam over every bit of text. And since I can't edit it, it just doesn't make sense to me either, that's why I developed this extension smile
4. CSS PrefixR - Fixes vendor-prefixes and thus layout issues. Version 2.0 will be published tomorrow. Read more about it here and grab it while it's hot! wink

Nice layout.

My Suggestion for this new layout if it can be done.
add a text near the ''Add to Opera'' button that shows if the extension already installed and if yes shows version number.

Since opera is so feature rich and tons of other features are already built in

i only use 3 extensions

-Extendtube
-Imagus(why the hell is this extension not added to the extension page?)
-AutoPatchWork

Everything else i use is already built in

only 3 extensions but my opera still as super fast as ligthning

it should go to opera/addons as extension is not the only addon...

It's better now, but...
People are still confused between extensions and widgets (especially things for speed dial). At the moment widgets are not available on the addons website.

Very good! But..:

You have set a maximum size for the screenshots now, resulting in bad perceptibility if the image was too big.
Please add a zoom-feature or an additional button to open the images in another window!
