Office Space

, ,

Last year, we gave you a chance to see a day in the life of an Opera employee. A few months ago, we changed our location and got a new office. We now present to you a sneak peek into Opera's new office life. Enjoy

Welcome to Opera's new office located in Nydalen, Oslo, Norway!

If you need a break from work, the surrounding area is a lovely place to relax.

Yes, of course you can swim here!

This is Erlend Drevdal Hausken. He's responsible for marketing and communications at Opera. He enjoys hiking, romantic comedies and red wine.

Sh*t just got real: System administration. Notice all the stuff. That's a lot of stuff.

No desk is complete until you have at least three geeky items. In this case: Duff beer, Nintendo Mints and a stuffed Yoshi toy.

Here we see Rian (who works in finance) doing some super important work.

Christian works as a user interface designer for Opera. He's working on something. Not sure why the evil grin. devil

Some of you might recognize Andreas from the My Opera development team. His interests are gym, tan and laundry.

Meet Oleg from Ukraine. He's famous for awesome interface and web designs, eating huge lunches and overall being a good guy. He's also active on Twitter.

This is Hans. Usually, he codes brilliant lines of code for the addons catalog, but here he is busy... doing... something else.

Being a developer at Opera requires massive headsets. Øyvind's headset is among the biggest one at Opera and he is not afraid to show it off. Go Øyvind!

Anne-Lise and Esteban entangled in a discussion over a technical problem.

Esteban's solution to any code problem: MORE COWBELL!

Espen Myhre showing off how 3D browsing should be done: With 3D glasses.

The nerdiest superhero ever: Captain Drupal.

"Just look at the picture! He has to be his father!"

Espen Myhre is not familiar with tab stacking.

Cosimo is one of many extremely talented engineers at Opera. What makes him one of the best is that he has a little blanket for his keyboard.

Under the blanket we find a keyboard that definitely has a feeling of epic.

Petter Nilsen shows off a new Opera build with a touch user interface.

Drag. Drop. Looking good!

Bingo! For everyone wondering, my keyboard is indeed a Filco Majestouch2 TenKeyless (with no numeric keypad) Ninja (with blank keys). I also customised it with a red ESC keycap, and replaced the Windows keys with no Windows logo :-)

For the real estimators of mechanical keyboards, I'll say that it's equipped with red cherry keys, the less noisy among the mechanical (I think). It took a while to choose this keyboard, and geekhack.org helped me :-)

Wow! A VERY nice place.

And Espen Myhre, do you use Orkut? o.O
